Welcome back Gables Families! It was so wonderful to see all the smiling faces at Meet the Teacher Monday night. We are so excited for a new school year! As we embark on this new journey together, I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Kate Green and I will be the Family Ambassador for Gables this year. Last year's fearless leader Jen Davison took a role with CCS as a social worker, we are happy she will still be with the CCS family in her new role and wish her all the best. Some of you may recognize my face from the many PTA events of the past years. I have been on the PTA board for five years, mostly in the treasurer's role. I am married to my husband Shane Green and we have two children, a 7th grade boy at Ridgeview and a 5th grade girl here at Gables. I have a plethora of knowledge and am excited to learn even more about our Gables families and your needs. I've been around the block so to speak, so please feel free to talk to me any time and if I can't answer your questions, I can point you in the right direction.

At Gables we believe that when families actively participate in school activities, students are more engaged and perform better academically. Whether it's attending parent-teacher conferences, volunteering with the PTA, or just participating in school events, your presence and support are invaluable to us and to your child's success. Your involvement is the key to making Gables Elementary a place where learning is not just about academics, but also about building a strong, supportive community. I look forward to seeing you in school and celebrating the achievements our students have together. We love to learn. Go get'em Gators!

Is Your Parent Portal Account Activated? Stay engaged in your childs education by setting up and signing into the Columbus City Schools Parent Portal. Through the Parent Portal, you'll be able to securely access valuable information on your student(s):

• Teacher Contact
• Grades and Course Schedules
• Daily Attendance
• Missed Assignments
• Update Contact Information

Activating the Parent Portal is Easy.

1. Go to our website at www.ccsoh.us and click on the Students and Families Tab.

2. Click on Parent Portal box at the bottom of the page

3. Click on the button that says NEW USER ACTIVATION

4. Enter your ACTIVATION CODE (contact your school to obtain one if needed)

5. Follow the prompts to set up your username/password and to add a recovery email address.

6. If you have forgotton your username/password, click on EXISTING USER in the Portal, then click FORGOT USERNAME/PASSWORD, and the information will be sent to the email used to set up the account. If you no longer have access to the email you used when setting up the account, please send a picture ID and your student's name and date of birth to parentportalaccess@columbus.k12.oh.us
