Wildcat Weekly
Volume 40,May 10th, 2025

We want to wish a heartfelt Happy Mother’s Day to all of our TMHS moms, including the incredible mothers of our students and our outstanding staff and teachers who are also moms!! Your support, care, and dedication have a lasting impact on our students and school community, and we hope you feel celebrated and appreciated this weekend.
We also want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who helped make our teachers feel celebrated and loved during Teacher Appreciation Week! From kind words to thoughtful gestures, your support meant the world to our staff. If you haven’t had a chance yet, there’s still time to recognize a teacher who’s made a difference the link is included below for you to share a message of appreciation.
Next week, eligible students will receive their final exam exemption cards. To qualify, students must have no more than four absences in the first semester and no more than three in the second semester, or no more than eight total for the year (including the day of the exam). They must also have fewer than ten unexcused tardies or late arrivals for the year, attend all exam review days, clear all textbooks, and pay any outstanding fees. Students assigned more than two days of ISS, or any OSS or AEP placements this year, are not eligible for exemptions. Students are responsible for keeping up with their exemption card once issued, lost cards will not be replaced.
Let’s finish strong, Wildcats!
#GOCATSGO!
Teacher Appreciation Week is almost here, and we need your help to make it special!
This is your chance to recognize a teacher who has made a positive impact on your life or your student’s journey at TMHS. Whether it was through encouragement, extra support, or simply showing they care, our teachers make a difference every day, and now it’s time to say thank you. Use the form linked below to share a message of appreciation for any teacher (or as many teachers as you'd like!). Each submission will generate a personalized certificate that we’ll print and proudly display on their classroom door during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Let’s come together as a Wildcat family to celebrate the incredible educators who shape our school community. Your kind words will mean more than you know!

CTE Ceremony
Beginning with the graduating class of 2025, Tomball ISD is proud to introduce the CTE Honor Cord to recognize students who have demonstrated outstanding dedication and achievement in Career and Technical Education. This honor celebrates those who have completed a rigorous program of study and earned an Industry-Based Certification (IBC), highlighting their preparedness for college and career success. The 2025 CTE Awards Ceremony will be held on May 14, 2025, at 8:30 AM in the Tomball Memorial High School Gym. To ensure a smooth check-in process, there will be two lines for entry: one for guests who have RSVP’d and are already in the security system with pre-printed ID badges, and another for those who still need to be scanned and have a badge printed on site. Children do not need an ID to enter.
Senior Awards Ceremony by Invitation Only - May 15th 8:30 AM
Students who receive scholarship offers, enlist in the military, earn a service cord, and other awards will be invited to participate in our Senior Awards Ceremony in May. More information about this ceremony and the awards that will be recognized will be sent out soon.

TMHS Counselor Information
Pass/Fail Information
TISD students who are participating in a defined four-year program which does not have quality (weighted) point options at Levels III and IV (usually the 11th grade and 12th grade courses) such as TAP/AP/Dual Credit may opt to take the approved course as a Pass/Fail course. Course grading will follow the normal grading guidelines, and a numerical grade will be recorded and reported for progress reports and report cards. The semester grade will be calculated with the two marking period grades and the final exam (unless exempt). Provided that the semester average is at least 80, the numerical semester average will be converted to a grade of Pass for the transcript. The grade will not be included in GPA calculations. The student must be in 11th or 12th grade and requesting a course which forms either Level III or IV of a four year program for which the student has completed levels I and II.
Pass/Fail courses are best suited for students with an overall GPA at or above 100. If a student’s overall GPA is below 100, choosing to take a course as Pass/Fail may not be advantageous. Students can speak with their counselor for further information if needed.
Only rising juniors (class of 2027) and seniors (class of 2026) need to complete the application at this time.
Students may only take two Pass/Fail courses in any one school year.
Students must successfully complete the application process advertised by the campus each year and meet any required deadlines.
Students must commit to the program prior to August 1, 2025.
Students may not change their decision after August 1, 2025.
Students must earn a semester average of at least 80 to qualify for the conversion to a Pass for the transcript record. Semester averages of less than 80 will be posted according to regular guidelines and will be included in GPA rankings.
See the Tomball ISD 2025-2026 Course Catalog for eligible courses.
Course Selection
The deadline to make changes to students’ elective courses for the 2025-2026 school year was February 9th. You can view the courses your student chose for next year by logging into HAC. Their courses for next year are listed underneath their current school schedule.
While it is too late to make elective schedule changes for your courses for next school year, you can make level changes at this time (ie. moving from AP/DC/TAP to on level) by completing the Level Change Request Form . Please be aware that students must have attended a Dual Credit meeting if they are planning on taking DC classes next school year. Once school starts students can request to drop an advanced course at the end of the third week, sixth week, and/or semester.
