Important Changes to Aspire
Very Important Message:
Please Read These Important Updates for Aspire's School Year 25-26
Dear Aspire Families and Community,
It is with great sadness that I share some important updates regarding Aspire Deer Valley’s Online Academy. As you may know, the recent failure of the Maintenance & Operations (M&O) override has required the district to evaluate how best to support schools while being responsible stewards of available resources. Unfortunately, this has led to some difficult decisions that will impact our school.
After thoughtful deliberation, the district has determined that the K–5 program at Aspire will come to an end after this school year. This was a challenging decision, influenced by the impact of low enrollment, and was made with the utmost care and consideration for our community. We remain deeply committed to supporting every student during this transition and ensuring they continue to receive the best possible education.
Additionally, the district has thoroughly reviewed high school enrollment numbers and staffing levels to ensure alignment with student needs. As a result, our Spanish program will transition to an addenda model, and many of our addenda positions will be absorbed by full-time staff. These changes are being implemented to align resources with enrollment and support the long-term sustainability of our programs.
We understand how deeply these changes may affect our families. Please know that our team is here to support you through this transition. In the coming weeks, we will reach out to impacted families to provide detailed information, guidance, and assistance in planning for next year. Our priority is to ensure a smooth transition for all students, particularly our younger learners, who may find these changes unsettling.
We also want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible Aspire team, who have gone above and beyond to create a nurturing, innovative, and high-quality educational experience for our students. Aspire’s legacy is a testament to their dedication and hard work.
As we navigate these changes, we kindly ask for your understanding and partnership. We are committed to providing clear and thoughtful messaging to help our students feel safe, supported, and cared for throughout this process.
We will continue to share updates with you via email, our school website, and upcoming meetings. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to Aspire.
Thank you for your continued trust in Aspire Deer Valley’s Online Academy and for your unwavering support of our school community. While this is a challenging time, I remain confident in the resilience and strength of our Aspire family. Together, we will face these changes and move forward with the same dedication and care that has always defined our school.
With gratitude,
Juliet Carrizales Amara
