No School Wednesday for Students: Teacher Professional Development Day
Students/Guardians of Online Credit Recovery
Progress emails will be sent out every Sunday to let you know if your student is making progress in their online classes toward completion. Please look for these emails so you can help to keep your child on track with his/her progress.
Traffic Reminder
Please be sure to pull forward in the drop-off loop and not stop to let students out until you have reached the south side of auto shop. This helps to keep traffic flowing.
Also, students on foot should not be entering campus at the security guard shack gate. All students on foot who are dropped off on Arcadia, should enter the pedestrian gate where there is a monitor and a cross walk.
Season Tickets/Passes
Home Athletic Passes are available for a family, adult individual and student for $30. These can be purchased online at In Touch Receipting. Individual ticket prices will be $5 for adults and $4 for students during the 2024-25 School Year. Home Athletic Passes allow for entry to all Rincon home games/matches except AIA playoff contests. If you are an adult who plans to attend more than 6 home games or a student who plans to attend more than 8 home games this year, the pass will provide you with savings.
Yearbooks
The yearbook is currently at $60 until the end of the quarter, and they can purchase online.
After School Tutoring Starts Monday
If your child needs homework help or tutoring on specific concepts, this is a great resource for them, free of charge, because Rincon is a Title I school. Please encourage your student to attend tutoring if he/she is struggling, to get support from certified Rincon teachers.
Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays in the Library: 3:15-4:30 p.m.
Students are required to sign-in and are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior or they will be asked to leave.
Student announcements
- Attention RHS Seniors, your Senior Sunrise is August 23rd at 5:45 AM. This event celebrates the beginning of your final year here at RHS. There will be a coffee food truck, field games, and more. See you there!
- The Boys and Girls swim teams - the bus to the pool will leave from the North Parking Lot Bus Bay at 3:20pm today. Your parent or guardian needs to pick you up from the Catalina High School Pool when practice is done.
- Rincon seniors make your appointment with Dodson photography as soon as possible to have your senior portraits taken. You must go through Dodson, we will not accept outside images.
- The Rincon University Club Fair will take place on September 10th during conference period in the breezeway. This is a great opportunity to see what clubs are available on campus, but also to recruit members for your own club or even find like-minded students to create your own! If you would like to set up a table to advertise your club, please see Mr. McDonough or Mr. Ollanik. Otherwise, we’ll see you there!
- The Teen Mobile Clinic will be on campus tomorrow, Tuesday, August 20th from 8:30am-12:30pm. If you would like to be seen, you must sign up in the health office to make an appointment.
Student ID's
Now that the year is in full swing, students MUST have their IDs with them every day. Students who do not have their ID will be required to get one and a $3 charge will be billed to their student account if they do not have the money to pay for a new one.
Parents of students who are repeat offenders without an ID will be contacted so you can help us to enforce this important safety measure with your student.
Ranger Recognition: Special Thanks!
Carrie Chappell: Site Engineer
Carrie is our newest engineer and we’d like to welcome her to her new "home on the range"! She has been working tirelessly this summer, replacing windows, painting, hanging signs…the list goes on and on, to make sure that our 65+ year old building is in the best shape possible for our students. Thank you for all of your hard, Carrie. We’re so glad you’ve joined Ranger Nation!
Barbara Hurley: Teacher & Club Sponsor
Barbara Hurley is a dedicated Rincon science teacher who also sponsors the Environmental Club. We want to send her a special shout out for taking care of the beautiful plants and garden over the summer, as well as the beloved Rincon chickens. When she couldn’t be here to water, weed, and feed, she coordinated with other dedicated colleagues to ensure that everything was taken of so that our students have green space to enjoy while they are on campus. Thank you for taking time out of your personal schedule to keep our chickens healthy and the campus beautiful!
