At the end of the 1st semester students will participate in Semester Exams. This year exams will be on Dec. 17-20. We will be on an adjusted schedule to administer the exams. As you are preparing for winter break activities here are some guidelines that we will follow for exams:

• If your child is going to miss exam week for any reason, please contact our attendance office to do a pre-arranged absence.
• Neither students nor staff can reschedule an exam without administrator approval.
• Students leaving early for winter break will take exams WHEN THEY RETURN. We will run a make up exam schedule on Jan. 7-10 for students to complete any missed exams.
• Rescheduling exams for convenience is not permitted.

If you have specific questions, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach JR. is a brand new take on this "masterpeach" of a tale. Featuring a wickedly tuneful score and a witty and charming book, this adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery is destined to be a classic.

When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of laughs along the way. You don't want to miss this family-fun adventure that celebrates found family and friendship!

Congratulations to 9th grade German student Shreyan Gurram, winner of the national essay contest sponsored by the German Embassy in Washington D.C.

Students were asked to imagine they were the mayor of a small town in Germany and to discuss what they would do to achieve climate neutrality. Shreyan's essay focused on how small ideas could have a big impact to fight climate change.

His essay is featured on the German Embassy's website. You can scan the QR code to read it. He was awarded a $150 Amazon gift card for authoring the best essay.

Honorable mentions also were awarded to junior German students Bella Ahlum and Nithin Saranath and they will receive prizes from the German Embassy.

Jerome's Photography students learned about the work of photographer JR and his ability to tell stories visually through photography. They then used their own words and photos to tell a story about Jerome and covered the walls with their work.

Starting after winter break, parents and guardians at Jerome High School, Eversole Run Middle School, and Abraham Depp Elementary will be able to report student absences using the new Absence Request tool in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

This quick and convenient feature is part of a pilot program aimed at streamlining absence reporting for families and schools. Stay tuned for more details in December!

December Menus

The 25-26 FAFSA is now live! The F in FAFSA means it is FREE. Make sure you are logging onto the correct website, fafsa.gov. There is not a charge to complete the FAFSA. Completing the FAFSA form allows your student to apply for federal student aid, such as grants, work-study, and loans. In addition, most states and colleges use information from the FAFSA form to award non federal aid. Make sure to check out the priority deadlines for Ohio Colleges.

DCS released it Safety & Wellness Playbook recently in partnership with Dublin PD. I have linked it to the image for your review. It is a great resource and reminder.

FCA is hosting a Toy Drive this Christmas from Dec 1st through the 13th to help ensure that all kids in central Ohio have gifts to open this Christmas. Bring new, unopened Christmas gifts to the commons and place them under the tree. Use your gifts to be a blessing to others this Christmas while loving your neighbors in need.

We have a full slate of basketball on Wednesday, Nov. 27 vs. Dublin Coffman starting at 1:00pm with Girls Varsity playing at 5:30 and Boys Varisty immediately following. We invite everyone out to support out Celtics.

PSAT/NMSQT Results

During the month of October, all juniors participated in the PSAT/NMSQT assessment. These results are now posted in the student’s CollegeBoard portal. If your child did not previously create a CollegeBoard account with their school counselor, please follow the steps linked here to create their account. Please use your child's district email when creating this account. If your child is unable to login to their account, you must contact CollegeBoard directly at 877-348-5728. Additional information about how to interpret these results can be found here.

Credit Flexibility/Intent for Online Learning Application Deadline is Dec 1

Dublin City Schools and the State of Ohio offer educational options for students to obtain high school credit using non traditional approaches. Students interested in Credit Flexibility and/or Online Learning (from an outside provider) for this Winter/Spring must fill out Credit Flexibility Applications and submit to their School counselor no later than December 1, 2024. All information is available on the district website. Please note that the next submission date (for summer and fall 2025) will be May 1, 2025.
