Parent Access to Canvas!
We are rolling out parent "observer" accounts! These will let you see student grades, if they have turned in their work, and even let you see the assignment that they completed. To get set up, see the written directions below, or use one of the videos to get set up. You can monitor your child's Canvas account from a phone app or your computer, so choose the one that is best for you!
POAC Leadership Training
We will train 30 students using POAC Succeeds once again this year. This training addresses our anti-bullying initiative and encourages and empowers students to stand up for students who are affected by bullying and create a community of belonging.
POAC sessions will be on November 6th and 7th from 7:30 - 9:30am. Students interested in POAC are bringing materials home for parents to look at and will sign up at Lunch on Thursday and Monday,
Immunization Clinic
Clay County is offering an immunization clinic on November 19 for all middle school students between the ages of 11-14. This is a great way to get your child vaccinated for low or no cost.
Vaccines being offered are:
-Tdap (required)
-Meningitis ACWY (required)
-HPV9
-Influenza
The registration deadline is November 9th. Please see the attached letter for details.
Swope Health Dental Clinic
The Swope Health Dental Clinic will be at ESMS on Monday, December 2. Students must have consent paper work completed in order to be seen on that day. Please see the attached paperwork and have your student return to the school nurse prior to December 2 if you wish to have them seen.
Important: Cell Phone Policy
Board Policy EHB-AP
Cell phones are not to be used, displayed, or turned on during the regular school day, including instructional class time, class change time, breakfast or lunch. Exceptions or waivers to this restriction may be made at the discretion of teachers or administrators in the event of an emergency (Board Policy EHB-AP). Cell phones should be stored in student lockers and turned off. The school will not be responsible for electronic devices that are lost, stolen, or broken. Students are encouraged to consider the risks of bringing electronic devices to school.
