Extended Learning Programs
January Edition
Happy New Year! After school programming has resumed, and students will be busy with their Invention Convention Projects, creating their second prototypes, experiencing new games like Spikeball (a cross between volleyball and basketball) and studying animal habitats in our local community. Families, please take this opportunity to reset and review goals and expectations with your child/children. Please remind them to go directly to their after school programs and to remember to be kind, respectful and responsible. We look forward to a brilliant 2025 full of new adventures!
Winter Intersession: Our winter intersession, themed 'Learn How to Be a Pilot,' was an incredible success, bringing excitement and joy to students across the district! The enthusiasm from our students was truly inspiring, with countless happy faces and overwhelmingly positive feedback. This intersession ignited many sparks of curiosity and interest in STEAM careers, paving the way for a brighter future.
Sports: We’re thrilled to announce the return of our sports season! Basketball practices kick off for our 5th and 6th graders on Tuesday, January 21, and we’ll hit the court for our first Friday game on January 31. Check out the schedule below for all the details on our upcoming Friday games! 🏀
If you’re planning to attend any of our Friday games, please remember that it’s important to set a positive example for our students by displaying good sportsmanship and cheering for both teams. Parents who will be joining us at the games are required to complete and submit a Parent Code of Conduct form, which should be turned in to our after school program staff. We’re excited to kick off what promises to be an incredible basketball season!
Field Trip: On Saturday, February 22 there will be a field trip to Monterey County First Tee. For more details and information on how to sign up, please refer to the flyer below. We look forward to seeing you there!
Spring Intersession: March 24 to 28, the spring intersession will focus on technology in agriculture and include sports, art, performing arts and more. Flyers and sign-up information will post on Parent Square soon!
