PARENTS OF THIRD, FOURTH, AND FIFTH GRADERS: STATE TESTING CONTINUES THIS WEEK!
Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will take the MATH state test on Tuesday, 5/7 and Wednesday, 5/8. In addition, students in grades 4 and 5 will take the SOCIAL STUDIES test on Thursday, 5/9. Please make sure that each testing date, your child:
- Gets a good night's sleep the night before testing
- Wears comfortable clothes
- Is on time arriving at school
- Does not wear a smart watch to school testing days
- Brings earbuds or headphones (not allowed to be wireless)
- Is ready to give his or her very best!
Please understand (and make sure your child understands) that the state requires all cell phones to be powered off and collected by the teacher before testing begins each day. If you would prefer to have your child keep his or her phone at home testing days, that would be an alternative to having it collected and stored each testing day.
As a reminder, the testing is structured differently than other years, in that each part of the test must be completed within the day the test has started. This makes it even more important that no early dismissals OR late arrivals occur on any of the testing dates listed below! Please make sure these dates are on your calendar and that no appointments are scheduled during those times. This will give your child the best chance to give their best effort on the tests.
MATH STATE TESTING (Grades 3, 4, 5): May 7 & 8
SOCIAL STUDIES STATE TESTING (Grades 4 & 5): May 9
SCIENCE STATE TESTING (Grade 5): May 15
Student Medication Pick Up Reminder
Dear Parent/Guardian,
If your child has received medications in school this year, please make arrangements with your school nurse to pick up any remaining medication.
Medication should not be sent home with the students. If you have completed the Student Possession and Use of Asthma Quick Relief Inhaler Form, the asthma inhaler may be sent home with the student. If you have any questions regarding the current medication requirements, please contact your school nurse.
Please note that student medications not picked up by the last staff day will be disposed of properly.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Wilbur School Nursing Team
HOW CAN IT BE????
It is shocking that next week brings with it MAY!!! We are in the final stretch of the 2023-2024 school year.....even more special to me as it is my last end of year here at Wilbur! We have tons of special activities and events occuring during the next several weeks.
Field days are one of our favorite end of year events and we are ready for a ton of fun this year! Thanks to the Walkathon fundraiser, we were able to arrange for some great inflatables to add to our field day line up! Parents ARE able to attend field days, but please fill out the form below so that we know who to expect and whether you will be taking your child home with you at the end of their event. (This form will be in Wilbur Words for the next few weeks.) Unfortunately, we do not have the space available in our cafeterias for family members to stay for lunch. Also, just a note that other Wilbur siblings can't be signed out to be brought to a different grade level's event. (With almost 1100 students, this has always been our guideline.)
