October Count Day
Important October Count Day
School Funding Information
Tuesday, October 1st is a Critical School Funding Day
Douglas County School District is funded via the Public-School Finance Act of 1994. Funding is based on the number of students present on the “official count day”. Although attendance is important every day, Chaparral’s budget relies on the number of students that are counted through attendance on the official count day. This year that day is Tuesday, October 1.
Therefore, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 all students are expected to be in their zero hour, Advisement, fifth, sixth and seventh period classes. If your student is ill, please follow our regular attendance policy.
Thank you for your support.

This is the only National Merit Qualifying Test for 11th grade students and is the practice test for the mandatory SAT exam given to all Juniors in April. The PSAT and SAT are important tests so the opportunity to practice is extremely beneficial.

Students should complete the registration form if they would like to take the ASVAB on October 9. If you have any questions, please email Ms. Monica Everhart at meverhart1@dcsdk12.org. The registration deadline is Friday, October 4, 2024.
