Dear Griffin Community,
As we dive into this new chapter together, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible community we are building here at Griffin Middle School. Our mission, Growing a Community of Excellence, serves as a reminder of our shared commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every student can thrive.
Excellence doesn’t happen overnight—it’s nurtured through collaboration, dedication, and a shared vision. Whether it’s in the classroom, on the playground, or at our upcoming events, I encourage all of us to continue investing in this community and in one another.
Thank you for being such an integral part of our journey. Let’s keep growing together!
Warm regards,
Principal Soileau

2023-24 Texas Academic Performance Report AND 2023-24 Federal Report Card
Dear Parent,
I am writing to inform you that two different reports for our campus have been posted on the Texas Education Agency website:
Report
Link to TEA Website
2023-24 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR)
Texas Education Agency - 2024 Texas Academic Performance Report
2023-24 Federal Report Card (FRC)
Summary of the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR)
The TAPR is a report prepared each year by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for each district and campus in the state. As defined by TEA, the TAPR “pulls together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and socioeconomic status. The report also provides extensive information on school and district staff, programs and student demographics.”
The TAPR usually includes the A-F accountability rating for each district and campus, however, per TEA’s website, “The issuance of 2024 A-F ratings remains pending and subject to change based on judicial rulings.”
More information can be found on the TEA 2024 Accountability System website.
Summary of Federal Report Card (FRC)
The FRC is a report required under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA). Each year, TEA prepares an FRC for the State as well as each district and campus in the State. FRCs for the State, the district, and each of the district’s campuses are now available at the link provided above.
The information contained in the FRC is described in more detail in a document entitled Information Included in the 2023-24 Federal Report Card – which is also posted and available at the link provided above in both English and Spanish.
If you have any questions concerning the TAPR or the FRC please contact me. We will hold a public hearing in our GMS conference room to discuss the 2023-2024 TAPR on Jan. 23 at 4:00PM.
Thank you for your continued support of our school.
"Finish Strong: Attendance Matters!"
As we approach winter break, let’s rally together to help our students finish the semester on a high note! Parents, please encourage your students to stay focused and committed by attending school every day—even in the days leading up to and following the break. Consistent attendance sets the foundation for success, so let’s make every day count! Spread the message:
"Attendance matters—every day, every student!"
