Our Week at Reutter School
Week of May 13, 2024
School Nurse's Message
Reutter School Family,
April Showers bring May flowers and…….ALLERGY & ASTHMA SEASON!
If you suffer from allergies, you know the symptoms: coughing, sneezing, itchy eyes, runny nose, and scratchy throat. Common allergens and irritants found in and around the home are pollen, dust mites, mold, insect droppings, pet dander, and secondhand smoke. Exposure to these allergens can even bring about a serious asthma attack.
During an Asthma attack, airways become narrowed and breathing can become extremely difficult. Other asthma triggers include: respiratory infections, pollen (trees, grasses, weeds) air pollution, food, allergies, cleaning products, perfumes, exercise, and cold air exposure. Common asthma symptoms include wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing. Asthma cannot be cured but it can be controlled.
Please have your son’s/daughter’s pediatrician fill out an Allergy or Asthma Action Plan for your student if needed – these forms are available on our district website. List allergy, triggers, medications, and phone numbers. Talk to your pediatrician about the best daily management for your child’s symptoms. For more helpful information check out - www.schoolasthmaallergy.com
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns regarding our school health office.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Zorzi
School Nurse
Today, in accordance with state law, Reutter School conducted a security drill in the manner that we conduct all emergency drills, with seriousness and with sensitivity to our students and staff. Everyone responded appropriately and instruction resumed immediately thereafter.
A Celebration for Teacher Appreciation Week and School Nurse's Day
Reutter School Community,
As we near the end of the school year, it is important to take a moment to recognize and appreciate the dedication and hard work of our teachers and school nurses who play a vital role in the success of our school community.
This week, we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, a time to honor and thank our incredible educators for their unwavering commitment to providing quality education and support to our students. Our teachers go above and beyond every day to ensure that each child receives the best possible education and support, and we are truly grateful for their passion, hard work, and dedication.
In addition to Teacher Appreciation Week, we also recognize and celebrate School Nurse's Day, a special day dedicated to our school nurses who work tirelessly to promote the health and well-being of our students and staff. Our school nurse, Mrs. Zorzi, plays a crucial role in providing care, support, and guidance to ensure the overall health and safety of our school community, and we are grateful for her service to our students.
As we show our appreciation for our teachers and school nurse this week, let us take a moment to express our gratitude for the incredible work they do each and every day. Their impact on our students and school community is immeasurable, and we are truly fortunate to have such dedicated and caring individuals as part of our team.
Thank you to all of our teachers and school nurse for everything you do to support our students and school community. Your hard work and commitment make a difference every day, and we are incredibly grateful for all that you do.
Sincerely,
Mr. Peters
Principal
