Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families-- Now weβre back! Our first full week was very good. I know I mentioned it last week, but itβs worth saying againβ¦ the overall climate of the building, whether during class, lunch, at activities, has been very positive and engaging.
This year I am making an intentional shift in my focus on coaching and supporting our teachers. This has always been a part of my practice, but I have felt in the past few years that I had not dedicated enough time focusing on the people who have the greatest impact on student achievement and well-being daily. So that I can be better informed on daily operations in the classroom, I have committed 1-2 days/week exclusively to being out of my office and in classrooms. To do this, my daily schedule will be managed much more tightly. To help me do this I am working more strategically with my head secretary, Molly Adams. Molly is answering my calls, screening my email inbox, managing my calendar, and assisting those who want to connect with me. Her role is invaluable so that I consistently honor my commitments and take timely action on scheduled and unscheduled matters as they arise. Full implementation of my plan will be happening over the first few months as Molly and I calibrate our team approach to managing the school and maintaining high standards of customer service. I plan to provide more information and context over the next few months in the Flyer.
Mark your calendar for Thursday, September 26th. We will be hosting our annual Back To School Night. This event is a great opportunity to briefly connect with your childβs teachers, talk to coaches and club advisors or student members, and to interface with school counselors and administrators. It is an OPEN HOUSE format from 5:30-7:00pm, so you can come by anytime. Weβve noticed itβs always a great time for parents to connect with one another during a less-structure school event. In the event a teacher will not be in attendance, they will email you prior. Hope to see you there!
Iβd like to give a shout-out to our RHS Boosters! Please consider joining, and/or signing up below to help work the CONCESSION stand at our games. Concessions is greatly under-estimated, until it is closed one night! We love to keep it open, but it takes many volunteers to help prep and served food. Even helping at a single game can make a huge difference. Click on the sign-up genius below--today!
Weβre continuing our emphasis on students arriving ON TIME to school every day, and getting to each class on time as well. Please build in some extra time in the morning for valet drop-off, as well as hustling your student drivers out the door! REMINDER: in the MORNING ONLY you can drop off students from your car in the bus lane, starting AFTER 7:25am. REMINDER: we also have a vigorous transportation department with yellow busses! Consider riding the busβit builds character!
After school student valet pick-up has improved. Always PULL FORWARD, and keep all transactions in the valet line. Our parking map is below for a reference on places you should not wait, park, or pick-up. We always appreciate your cooperation and thank you to so many of you who follow the proper procedure every day!
Thank you for a great week, now letβs make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt

Go Dawgs!!
2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Opening Date Announced!
Everyone who works in higher education financial aid and admission offices hope the 2025-26 FAFSA is free of the bugs that plagued last year's FAFSA roll-out! A potentially good sign is this week's announcement that the form will be open December 1, 2024. If you and your student plan to complete the form, you can get yourselves prepared by creating your FSAIDs ahead of the December 1, date (assuming you do not already have an FSAID from a previous filing).
The Falcon FCCLA and Fashion Club will meet on Monday September 16th at 2:20 in E100. We will be discussing Blanket Night 2024! If you are interested in helping plan this fun event please join us! See Mrs. Foster for more details!
The Ridgeline Business Club (RBC) Officers from DECA and FBLA have been hard at work planning a great year for our members. All interested students and current members are invited to attend our KICKOFF MEETING on Wednesday, September 18th during both lunches in room E204. This is the perfect opportunity to learn what RBC is all about. Plus, you can sign up for our group Scarywood trip scheduled for October 24th. Can't wait to see you there!π

Attendance Matter
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As part of our efforts to improve communication and ensure greater clarity around student attendance, we are updating some of our attendance codes at Ridgeline High School. Below are the new and revised attendance codes that will take effect Monday, 9/16.
Updated Attendance Codes:
TUN (Tardy Unexcused):
This code replaces the previous TLTC code. It will be used for all students who arrive 1-10 minutes late to class without an excused reason. Please remind your child of the importance of punctuality.TEX (Tardy Excused): Excused only by a parent/guardian contacting the attendance desk for an accepted reason.
TUN P (Unexcused Partial Class Period):
This is a new truancy code. It will replace the former UTR code. TUN P will be used for students who:Are 10+ minutes late to class
Miss significant portions of class time in the middle of class
Leave class early without permission
If an ongoing issue arises related to tardiness or missing large chunks of class, it may result in further disciplinary actions.
TUN P (Excused Partial Class Period): Excused only by a parent/guardian contacting the attendance desk for an accepted reason.
Why These Changes Matter:
We believe these updates will help provide a clearer picture of your child's attendance and help address issues like tardiness or unexcused absences more efficiently. Regular attendance is critical to academic success, and these changes aim to encourage responsibility and time management among our students.
How You Can Help:
We ask that you continue to speak with your child about the importance of arriving on time and staying engaged throughout each class period. If there are any challenges that might impact their attendance, such as medical or family concerns, please inform the school so we can support them. Our Attendance Desk number is 509-558-3801.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your childβs education.
Sincerely,
RHS Administrative Team
