TRIUMPH QUICK DRAW ACTIVITY
Ms. Draper's students used the link in the announcements to try out the artificial intelligence-powered Google quick draw activity. Google Quick Draw. If you missed it, you may want to give it a try.
ELK'S HOOP SHOOT COMPETITION AT BFA
Report from P.E. Teacher, Ms. Jarvis.
After winning the school-wide competition out of 360 students, on Saturday, December 2nd, six students from City School participated in the Elk's Hoop Shoot Competition at BFA.
The Elk's Hoop Shoot is a free throw competition with ages ranging from 8-13. At the BFA competition our students participated against students from different schools in Franklin County. Overall our students represented City School very well.
Thank you for participating. You all did a great job!

OPEN DOORS HOCKEY
Mr. Brown shared pictures of little people playing floor hockey in an empty hallway on Monday afternoon. Great fun.
SECOND GRADE ART
Mr. Costantino posted 2nd grade art outside of one of his classroom spaces. The artwork was inspired by Van Gogh's mixture of colors and broad coloring strokes. After this activity, these artists are scheduled to move to various painting exercises.
TRIUMPH SALMON CATCHING INVENTION
Like the 4th grade Voyagers before them, the 4th graders in Triumph worked on the problem of feeding brown bears in Alaska adequately, while allowing enough salmon to pass upstream to spawn. Here is a picture of one of the Triumph inventors.

SKIING OPPORTUNITY FOR 6TH-8TH GRADERS
Jay Peak Season’s Pass
We will have a limited number of Jay Peak Season’s Passes for students in grades 6-8. These will be useful for families that ski. Discounted equipment rentals are available. Transportation to and from the mountain is NOT included. Yet, for students that will have access to use this pass, we want to make it available.
Any student that would like to have access to a pass and feels they will be able to make use of it, please write a letter of request to Mr. Craib and explain how you are a Safe, Achieving, Caring member of our school community. Mr. Craib will create the list that goes to Jay Peak. Pass award letters will be given to each qualified student. The deadline for letters of request is Friday December 8th.
MONTH OF CODE
December is the month of code at St Albans City School. All month long we will celebrate coding, computer science and innovation. Keep an eye on the announcements to learn about all the great opportunities that await. Stay tuned for a brand new school mystery complete with new characters and lots of coding adventure for all age groups, a dance party, AI challenges, and so much more!!

The month of code is a great time to learn about all of the resources we have at St Albans City School! The makerspace/STEAM team is here to support you both at home and at school and we invite you to check out the website we have created to learn more about all of the great coding opportunities available at every grade level. The Month of Code website can be found under the Enrichment tab on the St Albans City School website. It is full of online resources and ideas sorted by grade level. Activities include things you can do with and without a computer.

The final Open Doors Session of 2023 began on Monday, November 27th
It ends on December 21st.
WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA
Students from Team USA will be supporting our local veterans. Please consider taking part in the annual event or consider sponsoring a wreath. A small ceremony will take place on December 15th at Mount Calvary Cemetery. There will also be a ceremony on December 16th at Taylor Park.

CHEERLEADING INFORMATION
Athletes must have sneakers, shorts, a t-shirt, and a water bottle. Practices are closed to all spectators.
