ESC Region 11 CTE
A Note from Lisa and Chelsea
Hello, CTE Friends,
"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers." — Anne of Green Gables
October naturally brings a change in the falling of leaves, dropping in temperatures, and settling into the autumnal season. This October, we also anticipate the proposed CCMR and CTE changes in the air. While change provides opportunities, we know that change can create challenges as well. As we navigate these proposed changes together, what will not change is the continuation of support and services we are committed to providing to you.
We look forward to collaborating with you at the 2022 Pathways to Texas CCMR Summit, supporting CTE teachers with ongoing professional learning opportunities, and providing technical assistance whenever needed. Please review the updates and opportunities shared below. Have a wonderful week and happy Fall, y'all!
Sincerely,
Lisa and Chelsea

Military Enlistment Data
Beginning with 2023 annual graduates, TEA will award College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) credit to graduates for whom the district submits the required military enlistment documentation. Districts must obtain a completed DD Form 4 “Enlistment/Reenlistment Document-Armed Forces of the United States” from a student who has enlisted. The DD Form 4 must be completed in full, including all required signatures by the student and the enlistment officer, and submitted via a secure upload process in the spring of 2024. An example of the DD Form 4 is available from the DoD site here.

PEIMS Update
Reporting IBCs in 2022-23
Three reporting categories:
- Attempted - not successful
- Passed - exam passed, but student does not hold the credential (eligible for reimbursement, but not for Accountability.)
- Earned - Fully certified student, passed all requirements, and hold the official credential from the certifying entity
When you report, you need to know the date of certification, the cost if you are requesting reimbursement and the appropriate IBC Code. Remember, a sunsetted IBC is only good for accountability for the next two years. Not a good choice for freshmen and sophomores.

- 2019-22 Industry-Based Certification List for Public School Accountability - Sunsetting (PDF)
- PowerPoint Slides Explaining changes and sunsetting process
**Note that TEA provided an IBC re-evaluation opportunity for sunsetted IBCs. This closes on 10/14/2022. If any changes to the approved list come from this new process, we will share out through the listserv.
CTE Alignment Report
Found in TEAL in the CTER application
To support district personnel with understanding local strengths and opportunities for alignment between Programs of Study and IBCs, a technical assistance document has been created and placed in the Career and Technical Education Reports (CTER) application within TEAL. The CTE Alignment Report 2020-2021 is based on auto-coded data from the 2020-2021 school year.
The report will be rerun this November to include 2021-2022 auto-coded data.
Great information in these reports for you to analyze locally!
