i-Ready Minutes
October i-Ready Minutes
Hello Lehigh Families,
i-Ready is a great resource for our kids to use daily. The expectation is for ALL students to do 45 minutes of Reading and 45 minutes of Math every week. If you have access to a computer and the internet, you will be able to access i-Ready at home. Use the student Symbaloo link-
https://omsdstudent.symbaloo.com/home/mix/13ePBice8A and go through CLEVER to log into i-Ready.
This month, the 3rd grade accumulated the most i-Ready minutes for Reading and Math!! Congratulations to both grade levels. Keep up the great work.
THANK YOU!!

Attendance Matters
Attendance counts!
We continue this year's attendance campaign is "Every Day Matters," Regular attendance is crucial for student success, helping to build strong academic foundations and fostering a vibrant school community. This month, keep an eye out for exciting activities and events focused on the impact of showing up every day! #AttendanceAwarenessMonth #AttendanceCampaign #EveryDayMatters #WEAREOMSD #StriveForLessThan5
Come to school every day-we have so many fun incentives happening right now. We have our attendance assemblies where we honor students with monthly perfect attendance and classrooms with a trophy to keep for the month! We have perfect attendance parties for classrooms who have students here on time every day and complete their Lehigh letters coloring. And last but not least we have attendance surprise days; one per month!
PAWS OUT for the classes that had the best attendance!
ELOP FUN!
Hi parents,
Session #2 ELOP clubs will be ending on November 15. Session #3 registration will be starting on November 11 and clubs will begin on December 3. There will be a lot of new and exciting clubs for your child. We will have a few science-based clubs including drones, robotics, and experiments to name a few. There will be a performing arts club and fine arts club coming as well. In the game room, we added an air hockey table to go along with ping pong, foosball, and cornhole. For outdoor activities, we offer soccer, volleyball, pickleball, and badminton. There are a lot of fun activities for your child in and out of the classroom this year!

College Spotlight
Azusa Pacifc University
Lehigh Elementary is a No Excuses University (NEU) in which we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to go to college. In each newsletter, we will spotlight a college so that our community can learn more about colleges. This month, we spotlight Azusa Pacific University! Azusa Pacific University (APU) was established in 1899 and gained university status in 1981. APU enrolls roughly 10,000 students each year. The university operates on a 4-4-1 system: two full semesters of four months each pus a short May term. The university is divided into the College of Liberal ARts and Sciences and the School of Behavioral and Applied Sciences, Business and Management, Education, Music, Nursing, Theology and Adult and Professional Studies. Their mascot is the cougars, and the school colors are brick red and black.
Instructional Focus: Making Memories
As the holiday season approaches, it’s the perfect time to think about ways to create cherished memories with your family. Here are some tips to help you make the most of this special time together:
Establish Traditions: Start new traditions or continue old ones. Whether it's baking cookies, decorating the tree, or watching a favorite holiday movie, these rituals can become meaningful touchstones for your family.
Involve Everyone: Encourage all family members to participate in planning and activities. This fosters a sense of belonging and excitement, especially for kids who love to contribute.
Capture the Moments: Take photos or videos of your holiday activities. Create a scrapbook or a digital album to revisit those memories in years to come.
Volunteer Together: Spend time giving back to your community. Volunteering can help instill values of gratitude and empathy while creating shared experiences.
Unplug and Be Present: Consider setting aside time to disconnect from devices and enjoy quality time together. Play games, share stories, or simply relax in each other’s company.
Explore New Activities: Try something new as a family, whether it’s a craft, a local event, or a seasonal outing. New experiences can lead to lasting memories.
Reflect and Share: At the end of the season, take time to reflect on your favorite moments together. Sharing stories can reinforce connections and bring everyone closer.
The holidays are a wonderful opportunity to strengthen family bonds and create memories that will last a lifetime. Embrace the joy of togetherness, and enjoy this magical season!
Warm wishes,

PBIS
We Got Gold!
That's fantastic news! Congratulations to Lehigh Elementary for earning the Gold Award for PBIS! It's a wonderful recognition of their commitment to creating a positive and supportive school environment. Keep up the great work, Lehigh Lions!
Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) Expectations and Examples
- "Remember to always show RESPONSIBILITY by having your materials for class."
- "Remember to always be READY TO LEARN in the classroom."
- "How did you show RESPECT today?"
It is always a great conversation topic to also talk about how you showed RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, and READY TO LEARN in your daily life. We teach our students by example so sharing your experiences during your day is always a great opportunity to TEACH and MODEL!
