End of Year @McCarthy MiddleEvents for Trimester Three

As we approach the end of the school year, we’re excited to celebrate with a variety of special events for all McCarthy students in June! These activities are a great way to recognize the hard work and achievements of our students as we wrap up another fantastic year. In order to participate in these end-of-year celebrations, students must be in good academic and behavioral standing. This includes passing all classes, having no suspensions during May and June, and taking care of any outstanding obligations—such as Chromebook payments, detention hours, or other school-related responsibilities. Let’s finish the year strong and make these final weeks memorable for everyone!

It’s time to show what you know! All students will be taking the i-Ready End-of-Year Assessment—an important district-wide assessment that helps measure growth in both reading and math over the course of the school year. These results not only highlight how far students have come, but also help teachers and staff identify how to best support each student in the upcoming school year. Testing dates are scheduled for May 15 and May 22. We’re proud of our students' hard work and excited to celebrate the progress they’ve made!

May 28 2025 - 7th Grade Field Trip to Holman Stadium

Seventh grade is headed to the ballpark! On May 28, students will take a field trip to Holman Stadium in Nashua for a unique and exciting educational experience. This historical stadium visit isn’t just about baseball—it’s a chance to learn about local history, the significance of the venue, and enjoy a fun day outside the classroom. It’s sure to be a home run of a field trip!

Spring Band and Chorus Performances

McCarthy is closing out the school year with two exciting musical performances! On May 27 at 6:30 PM, the school chorus, featuring students in grades 6–8 and led by Mr. Caporale, will take the stage for their spring concert. Then, on June 3 at 6:30 PM, the talented band students, under the direction of Mr. Cardin, will perform in their year-end concert. We invite families and friends to join us in celebrating our students’ hard work and musical accomplishments!

On June 5, select McCarthy band members will be heading to Nashua to participate in the Thrills and Chills Music Festival! Students will perform for adjudicators, receive feedback, and celebrate their accomplishments with a fun-filled day. We’re proud of their dedication and can’t wait to cheer them on as they represent McCarthy!

June 10 2025 - 8th Grade Field Trip to Canobie Lake

One of the highlights of our end-of-year celebrations is the eighth grade field trip to Canobie Lake Park, which will take place during the school day on June 10 2025. Canobie Lake Park is a historic amusement park located in Salem, New Hampshire, offering a wide variety of rides, games, and attractions that are perfect for a day with classmates. The cost of the trip is $46 per student, which includes transportation by busas well as a $10 gift card that can be used for food purchases within the park. Students will depart and return during regular school hours. Your student's form and payment must be in by June 3, 2025.

June 11 2025 6-8PM Ice Cream Social

Get ready for a sweet time at the McCarthy Ice Cream Social on June 11th from 6–8 PM! This beloved event is a favorite among Elm Street Middle School students and promises a night full of games, fun, and festivities throughout the school. Scoop up some delicious ice cream in one-of-a-kind student-made bowls—yours to keep for $6! Proceeds from bowl purchases will go directly to supporting the MMS arts program and Catie's Closet. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled evening for a great cause!

June 13 2025 6:00-8:30pm 8th Grade Dance

On the evening of June 13, we will be hosting the Eighth Grade Dance at McCarthy Middle School from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. This special event, organized and chaperoned by McCarthy teachers, is a fun and memorable way for students to celebrate the end of their middle school journey. Tickets for the dance are $10 per student and will be sold by a team teacher. We look forward to seeing our eighth graders dress up, have fun, and make lasting memories!

June 17, 2025 9:00am at Nashua High School South

Our final event of the year will take place on the last day of school, June 17, at 9:00 AM at Nashua High School South—an especially meaningful location, as it will be the next step for many of our students. This event is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience the high school environment and be officially recognized as they transition from middle school to high school. Teachers will have the honor of calling each student’s name one last time, celebrating their journey and welcoming them into this exciting new chapter. It’s a proud and memorable moment for students, families, and staff alike.
The last day of school is coming up fast - June 17 - and will be an early release day, so be sure to plan accordingly! Sixth and seventh graders will keep their Chromebooks over the summer to continue learning and stay connected. Our eighth graders, however, will turn in their Chromebooks on June 6 as they get ready to take the next big step—high school! Let’s finish the year strong and celebrate all the growth and accomplishments from this school year
