Middle School Update
This month’s Character Trait focus is Cooperation. Students are showing cooperation and teamwork by bringing in items for our food drive. This is part of our Winterfest celebration and competition with Davenport Schools. Donating to the food drive not only helps us win back the Golden Plunger from Davenport, it also fills our Reardan Food Bank. Please consider donating items. If our Middle School students cooperate and achieve our goal of 125 items by Tuesday, January 24th, they will earn a doughnut party. Let’s go Screaming Eagles!
We are wrapping up our MAPs testing and will complete any make up tests needed. We are encouraging our students to work toward improving their scores and accomplishing their academic goals. These tests provide insight into how students may perform on our state tests coming up in April and May. Mrs. Vesneske started the science test this week with a cup of hot cocoa for inspiration! If you talk to your child about their MAP scores (most students took note of their score at the end of the test), please remind them that they are going for better than THEY did last time.
District Updates
Please plan to attend our K-8 Family Night out on Thursday, January 26th. We will serve pizza and salad from 5:30 to 6 pm and then have lots of fun math activities to participate in. Students will also receive goody bags with treats and math games to take home. Please join us!
We are focusing on positive bus behaviors with a refresh of our expectations and some fun rewards. All buses received PBIS posters with bus expectations this week and are reviewing expectations with students. Bus riders may be bringing home orange “Caught ya being good” cards” or certificates for Bus Rider of the Week. Principals are celebrating these rewards with small treats and lots of positive praise. If your child brings home one of these recognition awards, please take the opportunity to congratulate them for following expectations and being a great example for others!
Nutrition Team continues to serve scratch cooking!
