People in Our Community

Mr. McGillan, Mrs Swigler, Mrs. McFall, and former student Avery share their thoughts about their time at Rosewood.

Mr. McGillan, PE teacher, has been at Rosewood since 1996. When we first came to Rosewood the cafeteria was in the basement where the Kindergarten classrooms are now. All the PE classes were in the auditorium and the current gym, music room, and art room did not exist! He has enjoyed working at Rosewood because each day he has been welcomed by smiling students who are eager to start their day. The faculty and parents are very involved and supportive and the students are wonderful!

Mrs. Swigler, former music teacher, taught for 19 years at Rosewood. She still comes back to work with CRP students as a quilter. She says that Rosewood was a lot smaller when she first came. The music room was a lot smaller and was a shared space. Mrs. Swigler loved teaching at Rosewood because it is such a friendly place and a neighborhood school. A favorite memory from her time here was the Japanese Festival.

Mrs. McFall, former 3grade teacher, spent 17 years teaching at Rosewood. She enjoyed the small, family-like feeland the warm and welcoming community. It has the feel of an old timey, one-room schoolhouse with wooden floors where everyone is a part of the school family. Her favorite memories are the end of year kickball games and balloon toss. Rosewood is the best school in town! Go Eagles!

Avery, a former student who is now at Hand, attended Rosewood all 6 years. Her favorite things about Rosewood were honor choir, morning announcements, student council, and the fitness team. She loved being a student because of the community feel and all the kind people.
