School Dismissal Manager - Mandatory
This year Knowles Elementary will use School Dismissal Manager to allow parents to control of your child's daily dismissal without needing to call into the school. On August 8th, you will receive an email with login credentials and instructions. In the meantime, you can download the School Dismissal Manager app in the Apple or Google app store.
All students in PreK4 through 5th Grades MUST enroll. PreK 3 students will not participate at this time.
1st Day Details
For the safety and security of the school, parents will be able to walk their students to class on the first day of school, August 14th, ONLY. Please arrive between 7:10-7:30am, school starts at 7:30am and families arriving late will not be permitted in the building. For families needing to park, please use the Park and Meet parking located at the RBMS track and use the crosswalk to come into the building.
Please note, we invite parents and guardians to join us for lunch beginning September 3rd. The first few weeks of school teachers will be teaching cafeteria routines and procedures.
On Thursday, August 15th, be will implement our Secure Building Arrival plan. This means parents will say goodbye to their child in the front vestibule or in the car line. Parents will not be allowed to walk to the classroom, unless it is your child's first day of school. We will have lots of helpers to get students safely to their rooms.
Starting Day 2, Car line highly is recommended. Please see our new morning traffic route below with specific routes for Kinder-5th grade and PreK students and siblings. If you are walking into the school and are driving, please use the Park and Meet lot. Students are able to independently walk from the Park and Meet lot to the school if the parent deems they are mature enough to get their safely and follow instructions from the crossing guard.
New Morning Drop Off Traffic Pattern
In order to improve morning traffic, we will be adjusting our morning drop off traffic pattern. The new route creates separate drop off zones for PreK students (and siblings), and students in Kinder through 5th grade. This will allow students to be dropped off closer to their classrooms and allow extra time for unloading young students. It also allow families in the car line to have the right of way when exiting the school property onto Cougar Country. This will allow for traffic to flow more smoothly in the whole system.
The dismissal traffic pattern will be the same as last year.
