Falcon Band and Color Guard
The tamale and poinsettia fundraising deadline is this week. Make sure and get your order in before its too late!
This week marching uniforms will be turned in and the students will be fitted for their concert attire. Details are included below.
From the Directors
CLHS Band and Color Guard Families,
This week we move into our Concert Band Season. Students will need to start bringing their concert band instruments (if different from marching instruments) every day. We will start to learn our music for our upcoming Winter Concert on December 12.
Color Guard will move into Winter Guard Season. They will start learning their routine for their upcoming contests starting in January.
We will do Concert Uniform fittings Monday-Thursday after school. Girls will be issued a concert dress, and boys will be issued a tuxedo jacket and pants. Girls will need black dress shoes and boys will need a long sleeve button down black shirt, black socks, and black concert shoes (marching band shoes are fine) to complete the concert uniforms. Students will wear this uniform for our Winter Concert on December 12.
Thursday is picture day! We will also turn in bibbers, marching hats and hat boxes on Thursday as well. Please wash the bibbers and marching jackets before Thursday. Color Guard will need to have their washed marching costume as well. Students will come to their band/color guard class and immediately get changed into their marching uniform and take their individual picture in the ensemble room. Then they will need to change back into their school clothes and turn in bibbers, hats, and hat boxes. The uniform tops and hat wraps are theirs to keep.
ALL STUDENTS WILL HAVE THEIR PICTURE TAKEN ON THURSDAY! This will be used to create our big composite photo that we do each year and hung up with the others in the practice room hallway. There will be no makeups. If the student is not in class on Thursday, they will not be in the composite photo for this year. Information on how to purchase these professionally made photos will be sent out in a stand-alone email early this week.

MARCHING UNIFORM FINAL WASH AND RETURN - PICTURE DAY THURSDAY NOVEMBER 14
Picture day (Thursday, November 14) is the last time the kids will need their marching uniforms for the year. The kids should bring their full uniforms (bibbers, long-sleeve top, and shako with wrap) to school on picture day, and turn in the bibbers and shako after they have their picture made in class (the long-sleeve top and shako wrap are theirs to keep). The bibbers must be clean when they are turned in after pictures, so please make sure everything gets washed after the last football game on November 8th.
CONCERT UNIFORMS

On Wednesday and Thursday, we will issue the boys their black tuxedo jacket and pants as follows:

To complete their Concert Uniform, each girl will need a pair of black flats or dress shoes with heels no higher than 2”.
To complete their Concert Uniform, each boy will need a long-sleeved black dress shirt and black dress shoes and socks. They may use their black marching shoes for their concert uniforms. Please note that we will not have a tailor come in to do any hemming, so if your student needs to have his pants length adjusted you will need to do it yourself, or take the pants to a tailor to have them hemmed at your own expense. TA Tailor and Alterations has been a good place to take them in the past. Their address is 122 W. Bay Area Blvd. Webster, TX 77598 (in the shopping center at Hwy 3 and Bay Area anchored by Cookshack on one end and Dollar Tree on the other). Regardless of who you use to have the pants hemmed, please tell them to NOT CUT THE FABRIC when doing the hem.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
