Please use the following links and answer some important questions for us:

ELEMENTARY INFORMATION
Note from our Elementary Principals
Dear Parents,
We hope you have had a great week and that all of you had an amazing Spring Break!! This has been a great first week back and there’s a lot to celebrate this month, and I wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the amazing people and values that make our school such a special place.
Next week, we’ll be celebrating our incredible Vice Principal, Mrs. Kathryn Stoney. Mrs. Stoney is a prime example of our RISE UP values. She leads with Integrity and Excellence in everything she does. Whether it’s supporting students, helping teachers, or ensuring things run smoothly behind the scenes, she is always calm, thoughtful, and dedicated. She builds Unity within our school and goes above and beyond to make sure every student feels supported. We’re grateful for the Respect she shows to every individual and for the strong example she sets. We’re excited to spend the week showing her just how appreciated she is!
On Wednesday, we’ll also be celebrating our amazing librarian, Mrs. Lori Gillies, for National Librarian Day. Mrs. Gillies brings Service and Passion to her work in a way that’s truly inspiring. She’s created a library space that is welcoming, creative, and filled with opportunity. She doesn’t just help kids find books—she helps them discover confidence, imagination, and a love of learning. She lives our values of Excellence and Unity every day, supporting not only students but staff and families as well.
We’d love for you and your children to join us in showing appreciation for both of these amazing staff members. Even something as simple as a kind email or a handwritten note can go a long way. Let’s surround them with the Respect and Gratitude they so fully deserve.
We’ve also had a few questions about teacher requests for next school year. This year, we won’t be sending out a specific form for requests. Instead, we’re encouraging you to connect directly with your child’s current teacher if there’s input you’d like to share. Our teachers know your children well and will be the first step in our placement process. With Integrity and thoughtful collaboration, we work together as a team to make the best placements possible, keeping students’ academic and social needs in mind. We trust the process and appreciate your partnership in this.
We are very excited for our May 1st Princess Ball. Please review the flyer below for more details. This will be an enchanting night full of fun, dancing, music, refreshments, and professional photos at the cost of your family ticket. The Junior High secretaries have tickets for sale for this event. Come get your tickets to ensure a night to remember.
Lastly, a quick reminder as the weather warms up—please make sure students are wearing closed-toe shoes to school. Sandals and flip-flops may seem like a fun option, but they’ve led to a few avoidable injuries. For safety during PE and recess, we appreciate your help in making sure students are ready to participate and move safely.
Thank you for being such a vital part of our school community. The Unity between home and school is a key part of what makes our environment so strong. We appreciate your support and the way you model our RISE UP values for your kids.
Congrats to our Kiwanis Club 5th Graders
I’d also like to take a moment to recognize some outstanding 5th grade student leaders who were recently honored by the Kiwanis Club. These students have consistently demonstrated Respect, Service, and Excellence in their classrooms and among their peers:
Rachel Condie, Jax Morris, Maris Murray, Brox Morris, Benjamin Van Horn, Elizabeth Stinson, Rigley Hiss, Abril Alcantara, Darius Wright, and Amelia Wilde.
We are so proud of them and grateful for the light and leadership they bring to our school!
Princess Ball - Don't Miss Out!

ALA Families,
We cannot believe it is already April! The time has flown by! We encourage all of our families and students to soak in some Vitamin D - get outside, go on walks, and attend some of our Spring Fine Arts and sporting events for some family fun!
As the end of the school year draws near, I encourage us all to take a moment to reflect on the values that bind us together—not only as a school community but as citizens. Patriotism doesn’t just live in grand gestures; it thrives in the daily actions of kindness, integrity, service, and learning. At ALA, we strive to nurture not only strong minds but also responsible, compassionate citizens who contribute meaningfully to our country and our world. I'd like to highlight a few events that strengthen those bonds:
Graduation Ceremony: Will occur on the ALA football field on Tues, May 20 at 6:00pm. Details are in this Newsletter.
Attendance: Continue to remediate attendance so be in good standing for the end of the year.
Final Exams Schedule: April 12-16, with April 16 being an In-School Friday. Please encourage your student to finish strong!
Teacher & Staff Appreciation: May 5-8. If you're interested in supporting the cause in any way, please contact the Front Office so that you can be put in touch with Parent Council.
Summer Learning Resources: Watch for more information as the summer approaches and see THIS for more info.
Sharp Survey: If you haven't already done so, we would love to get permission from you, our ALA guardians, for your 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grade students to take the Utah Department of Health and Human Services anonymous Student Health and Risk Prevention Survey HERE . The survey asks questions about physical, social, and mental health; substance use; social connections; basic demographics; risky or harmful behaviors—and what protects kids from these things.
A Note of Gratitude
To our parents and guardians: your support and partnership have made all the difference. From volunteering your time to cheering from the sidelines, your presence in our school community has been felt in countless ways.
As we head into the home stretch, let’s all carry forward a sense of gratitude—for each other, for our freedoms, and for the opportunity to grow stronger together.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
