Message From Onondaga Road School Principal
Dear Onondaga Road Families,
Our District values your feedback! We will be asking you to take a brief survey to tell us about your experience with the West Genesee Central School District. To ensure we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and career, we need your feedback. We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses as they inform our Strategic Planning decision-making processes. The survey window will be officially open from December 2 - 16, however, we will also have computers available in the lobby so that you can take the survey when you are at school for parent-teacher conferences.
In addition, we’d like to remind families who frequently pick up their child at the 3:10 p.m. dismissal time to please contact the main office to obtain a pickup tag if you don’t already have one. Tags are reissued every school year, so if you are still using a tag from last year, kindly discard it and request a new one.
Lastly, a quick reminder about upcoming half-days for parent-teacher conferences: Friday, November 22, Monday, November 25, and Tuesday, November 26. Please note that there will be no YMCA program on these half-days, and after-school care for Holy Family will not be available on Friday, November 22, or Monday, November 25.
As we approach Thanksgiving, I wish all of our families a wonderful holiday filled with joy, gratitude, and togetherness.

This letter was sent home in students' backpacks last week. Please contact Susan Hayes-Penhollow or the Main Office, 315-487-4653, if you have any questions.
In many cultures, the winter season is a time of giving, receiving, and building connections. As the winter season approaches, we know many of you are looking forward to the holiday break and time with loved ones. This season can bring joy, but it can also bring stress and uncertainty, especially for families experiencing financial challenges.
We are fortunate at Onondaga Road to have community partnerships and generous neighbors who help support families in need. Through these contributions, we are able to offer assistance in the form of gift cards for groceries and winter clothing to families who may benefit from some extra support.
The purpose of this letter is twofold:
To invite families who are able to donate to consider supporting this program, and
To offer an opportunity for families who could use some assistance to sign up for support this year.
If you are in a position to give this season, we would welcome donations of gift cards of any amount from Wegmans, Target, or Walmart, which can be dropped off at the Main Office.
If you would like to request assistance this year, please contact our counselor, Susan Hayes-Penhollow. You can send your request by November 20th through Parentsqaure or via email at shayes-penhollow@westgenesee.org. Please know all requests are kept private and confidential. Once all requests have been received, we will then reach out to organize the gift card pick up.

PTA News
The PTA is looking forward to a year of activities! The next PTA meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 9th at 6:00 in the Onondaga Road Library. (Note: there will not be a meeting during the month of December.) Please consider becoming a PTA member to help support all of the great PTA-sponsored activities. We would love to see you at the next meeting. Here is a list of upcoming PTA events that your membership supports:

- BINGO Night & Ice Cream Social
- Enrichment Day
- Learning Fair
- Family Picnic
Announcements about school closings, delayed openings, or early dismissal will be posted on the News Headlines section of the District website home page. They will also be broadcast on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and the following stations which you can access by clicking here.
Also, ParentSquare communications software allows us to send emails, texts, and make phone calls. (Phone calls will be used for emergency situations only.)
Parent/Guardians and staff will NOT need to sign-up to receive information from schools that you are registered for in Schooltool. (You will have the option to opt-out if you choose not to receive emails, texts, and/or phone calls. To receive texts, you also have to opt-in per the instructions in the Tips article below. )
