A Message from Roundtown Principal, Dr. Miller
Happy Friday, Roundtown Families & Friends!
During this time of year, I always reflect upon all that is good in my life and the many joys that come with being a principal of an elementary school.
Roundtown has been my home for 27 years now including 16 years as its principal.
This year, more than ever, I am thankful for the opportunity to work with your children each and every day! The entire staff is re-committed to making this be the best school possible for our boys and girls and families. I’m excited for what 2025 has in store for us all! The children continue to make every day be a GREAT day to be a Panther! Our holiday break this year extends during the following dates: Monday, December 23-Wednesday, January 1. We will see you back at school on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
I wish you all peace this holiday season. May you enjoy time with your family and friends and loved ones. May 2025 be a time of peace and prosperity, happiness and health for us all! I am beyond thrilled and grateful that my mom and dad, after both battling and beating cancer this year, will be staying with me here in York for the holidays!
Love,
Dr. Miller

SCHOOL UPDATES
This past week....
The school was buzzing with excitement and electricity as we headed toward the big holiday break. Students enjoyed their holiday cheer week with special activities each day!
Middle School Students visited our kindergarteners on Monday to share their annual Holidays Around the World presentation.
Kindergarteners got to welcome their families to the classroom to build their annual gingerbread houses.
The students enjoyed a final all-school Community Meeting and sing-along on Friday.
And.....of course, the school was excited to welcome back those pesky, rascally, elves and all their shenanigans! Read carefully to see their mischief!
Coming next week…
Everyone will enjoy a much-deserevd break! School will be closed from December 23-January 1. School will resume for all students on Thursday, January 2. Have a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!
CENTRAL YORK DIVERSITY CELEBRATION
The CYSD Diversity Celebration is being held on February 12 from 6:00-8:00 at the HS. This event is a chance to highlight the unique experiences, perspectives, and cultures within our community. The event will feature school and community tables to explore, a selection of international treats to enjoy, and a special presentation beginning at 7:15 PM, where students and staff will have the opportunity to share "their story" through a variety of formats, including performances and spoken word.
This year, the Diversity Celebration Committee is seeking more involvement from students and staff in the K-6 buildings to participate in the celebration by sharing their stories, artwork, and other talents in the celebration of diversity and inclusion. Students and staff can write a story about their specific culture, family traditions, journey to Central, their native language, and learning English as a second language. Participants can read their own stories or choose someone else to read. In addition, students and staff can present their culture-related artwork, songs, and/or dances at the celebration.
