EMERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL MISSION
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE 04/17/25
Dear Emerson families,
We've successfully completed this year's MSTEP testing! Thank you so much for your incredible support and for ensuring strong student attendance throughout this important assessment period. Your commitment to prioritizing your child's presence in school each day truly makes a significant difference in their learning journey and allows us to accurately gauge their progress and needs. Make-up testing for any absent students will take place early next week.
As a reminder, there will be no school tomorrow, Friday, April 18th, in observance of Good Friday. We hope this extended weekend provides a wonderful opportunity for you to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. Thank you again for your partnership, and we look forward to welcoming our students back on Monday.
With Eagle Pride,
Bruce Rivera

To celebrate this upcoming chapter, we're offering a fantastic opportunity to purchase FHS spirit wear and commemorative 8th-grade yard signs. What better way for your student to show their future school spirit!
Order Here:

We look forward to welcoming the Class of 2029 to Franklin High School!
Cell Phone Policy Reminders
Dear Parents,
We are writing to clarify the school's policy regarding cell phone and earbud use during the school day. To maintain a focused learning environment, we are strictly enforcing the following:
- No cell phone use is permitted during school hours: AWAY FOR THE DAY.
- No earbuds or headphones are allowed, including wearing them around the neck.
- (Exceptions are made for a few students with documented medical or anxiety needs.)
In the Classroom: (AWAY FOR THE DAY)
- Teachers will remind students of the policy at the beginning of each class.
- If a student uses a device, it will be stored securely until the end of the hour.
- If a student refuses to hand over their device, administration will be called to confiscate it.
During Lunch and in the Hallways: (AWAY FOR THE DAY)
- Administration will confiscate any cell phones or earbuds seen during lunch.
- Administration will also monitor and confiscate devices in the hallways during passing periods.
- Teachers are asked to remind students of the rules in the hallways, but not to confiscate the items themselves.
We appreciate your support in helping us create a distraction-free learning environment for all students.
May 19th: 10 - 5pm Time Slots Available
Our Annual Flower fundraiser was a success.... but we now need your help.
Flower Delivery Day is May 19th at Cooper Upper Elementary. As of right now the truck will be here after the buses, so around 9:15. Any help you could give, would be greatly appreciated!!!! I will keep you updated on any time changes.

Book Chat
Book Chat - Almost Full!
Our book chat for the final quarter is almost full. Our book was recommended by a student and voted on by the group: The Murder Game by Carrie Doyle. We still have room for 3 more students.
Book Blast Extended!
Students had the opportunity to sign up to get more books from the Book Blast before we closed it up for the year.
Students who chose to do this were allowed to take as many books as they wanted!
GAME DAY!
Once a month, we try to host a game day where students can interact with each other a bit more socially.

A few key things to note:
The Livonia Parent Advisory Committee (LPAC) seeks parent representation from each Livonia Special Education Program. Parent representative volunteers have a child/children with a disability(ies). The LPAC also provides advisory input on matters regarding improvement of Special Education services within our school district.
Our Facebook page shares information of interest to our families and students.
Here, you will find electronic flyers for programs and events geared toward kids!
We hope that you enjoy the many offerings from around our great community!
If you have a program that you'd like to advertise, please email your flyer to Stacy Jenkins at sjenkins3@livoniapublicschools.org for approval. We follow a set of guidelines for approval and are only able to accept flyers for non-profit organizations that benefit our local children.
Enjoy!
Emerson Clubs
Emerson Middle School has several clubs where students can connect with their peers, learn a new skill, or simply hang out with friends. We've had a volleyball club, robotics club, GSA club, walking club, Pokemon club and homework club. We would love to offer something for everyone! Our club list is always growing, and we're always open to new ideas. If your student has a dream club in mind or if you'd like to be an awesome advisor, let us know! Joining a club is a great way to make new friends, learn new skills, and have a blast!
