The TCHS Indoor Activity Center Opens for Game Day
Construction on The Colony High School's bond-funded indoor activity facility was completed in August, just in time for the first home volleyball matches of the season.
The new 92,520 square-foot facility features six basketball goals, one full basketball court, two half basketball courts, two full volleyball competition courts, three cross volleyball courts, six classrooms, a training room, a weight room, an area for the TCHS golf program and additional storage space.

Recognize SomeONE
The Recognize SomeONE submissions are pouring in, and we're sharing a few for teachers in the The Colony community. As a reminder, you can visit LISD.net/Recognize any time to submit your own encouragement for LISD staff.
Kayla Bartley, Camey Elementary | "Ms. Bartley has a magic about her in her library. ANY of the students in our school could walk in and she knows a book that that student would love. She takes the time to chat with every student and get to know them so that when they come in she just automatically directs them to a section. If she doesn't she asks just a few questions and off they go. Her love for students is obvious to anyone who meets her. I love working everyday with Ms. Bartley and am so grateful for all she does.
- Sarah Schutte, Morningside Elementary | "I want to express my gratitude to Sarah Schutte for her ongoing dedication, availability, and willingness to assist our staff. Sarah, thank you for your valuable support in the Lifeskills program and for your help in coordinating the students' transportation on the daycare vans. Your contributions are truly appreciated, and your dedication is admirable."
- Meagan Widmann, Peters Colony Elementary | "Mrs. Widmann is amazing! She is patient, empathetic and loves her students so much!"
