The Hornet Buzz
August 23-September 6
Greetings from Mrs. Musick
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well and that you and your children have enjoyed a smooth and positive start to the school year. As we wrap up the first week, I wanted to take a moment to share some reflections and updates with you.
Week One Highlights:
- Classroom Buzz: Our students have settled into their routines with enthusiasm. It’s been wonderful to see their engagement in new activities and subjects.
- Teacher Engagement: Our dedicated teachers have been hard at work creating a nurturing and stimulating environment. They’ve started laying the groundwork for a fantastic year of learning and growth.
- Community Spirit: The support and involvement of our parent community have been instrumental in helping us kick off the year successfully. Thank you for attending Open House and supporting your children as they transition into their new classrooms.
Looking Ahead:
- Upcoming Events: Further in my newsletter I have upcoming events. Be sure to add them to your calendar!
- Staying Connected: We encourage you to stay in touch with us through our website, Facebook page, and/or Thrillshare. We will keep you updated with important information and announcements throughout the year.
Your Feedback: We value your insights and feedback. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to our school office or contact me directly. Your input helps us continually improve and provide the best possible experience for our students.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Let’s work together to make this school year a rewarding and successful one for all our students.
On a personal note, I wanted to say this has been an incredible first week for me. I love everything about this school district. The students are very respectful and hard working. The staff and teachers are the best of the best and care so much about their work and students. The community is so supportive of our school. I am so honored and proud that my family and I get to be St. Elizabeth Hornets.
Warm regards,
Ashley Musick
St. Elizabeth Principal

Box Tops
Box Tops News
The winning class for scanning the most BoxTops last year was this year’s Fifth Graders! Thank you to all who scanned receipts for Box Tops for our school last year; we earned $163! This money is used for extra classroom materials and activities for our students. Downloading the app is a fairly quick process and taking a picture of your receipts with the app, before you even leave the store if you wish, is a simple habit to get into! They have also made it easier to submit digital receipts.
Step-by-Step Guide to Box Tops App
Step 1: Download Box Tops for Education App and Log in
Step 2: Find a School (Type in 65075, Select School)
Step 3: Complete Profile (Must be 18 to use)
To Earn Box Tops
Step 1: Click Scan (App will guide you through the steps to scan your receipt)
Step 2: Credit a Class (If you choose to)
- After you scan, click the Credit button
- Type your choice of grade level (K-8)
- Click Done/Submit
Positive Office Referrals
Instead of Good Citizen, we are going to do Positive Office Referrals this year. Any staff member (teacher, cook, bus driver, nurse, etc) can acknowledge a student for going above and beyond, helping out, or simply they made improvements on something or anything they feel is worthy of being recognized. I will have a spinner wheel of prizes appropriate for grades pk-12. This is a great way to reward more students more frequently and not just from teachers. The week's positive office referrals will get copied and sent home with the student that day and then I will post the positive office referrals on a bulletin board each week. These will also be put in my community newsletter for the community to see who has received one for the week.

Reminders for the School Year
Drop off times: Students can't be dropped off before 7:45, unless participating in the Before Care program or an appointment with a teacher. This is to ensure that they are being looked after by staff. Drop off times should be between 7:45 and 8:00 and students will come to the gym during those times instead of main entrance.
