Sensory Processing & Big Emotions Workshop: Free for Parents & Caregivers
One of the best ways we can support and nurture our children is understanding how they uniquely experience and respond to the world!
See this FLYER
Children make sense of the world through how their body and brain receive, organize, and respond to sensory input. Sometimes a child’s response to sensory stimuli can be over-reactive (really big) or under-reactive (shut down), leading to big emotions and big behaviors.
In this engaging workshop, you will:
- Learn that behavior is communication
- Understand how sensory processing leads to a deeper connection with your child
- Gain strategies/tools that honor your child’s individual differences
- Learn how to support your child and yourself during and after times of big emotions/behaviors
WHEN: Tuesday, June 18, 2024
WHERE: Covenant Harbor, Geneva Bay Center
Playground Safety
Please help us keep all students safe on the playground by reviewing this Playground Rules Video with your child. Students viewed this video at the beginning of the year and are often reminded to play safe at recess.
End of the Year Fun!
We have some fun days the last week of school. June 3 is Field Day. This is a day filled with activities in the school and outside. June 4 is Bounce House Day. Each grade level has a timeframe to enjoy playing in the bouncies that will be set up in the gym. Students need socks to play in the Bouncies! Students who are not safe, respectful, and responsible will not participate in the Bouncies on June 4. Please help us remind students to be kind and safe.
Old News
Fisheree May 21
Williams Bay Elementary is again sponsoring an after school fishing contest open to students in grades 4K-5th. It takes place at the lakefront in WIlliams Bay on the municipal piers. Students will need their own ride to the lakefront and may arrive after 3:45. We will NOT have busses available to take them from school to the lakefront this year. Students in grades 4K-3 need to have a chaperone with them. We need all the help we can get. Families not already in attendance during the event should pick up their children at the lakefront NO LATER THAN 5:00 PM. A short prize award program will start at 4:45 PM.
Special thanks to these groups for their donations: Williams Bay Village & Police, Lakeside Bait and Tackle of Delavan and our very own Williams Bay Schools PTO.
Children MUST supply their own fishing rods and tackle and must bring them to the lakefront with the student. These items should be marked with your child's name on them. We will have worms as bait.
Students in grades 4k-3rd must be accompanied by an adult!
Permission slips with rules on the back were sent home this week and are also available in the WBES office.
Skyward Food Service Fees
Family lunch accounts should be checked to make sure there is no negative balance. All payments should be made to ensure there is enough money in the lunch account to cover the rest of the school year. Students with negative lunch balances may not be able to participate in the end of the year Field Day/Bounce House celebrations.
