Counselor Corner!
OCTOBER:
For the month of October, students will complete a career/personality assessment in Naviance. This survey will help students identify their top personality traits and career interests and help them explore future related career paths. Students will also be able to access additional career options by using the RoadTrip Nation section of Naviance, as well as continue to search various colleges/trade schools that focus on careers of interest.
TIP/ACTIVITY:
RoadTrip Nation is a great feature that allows students to explore the paths various professionals have taken to become experts in their professions.
With your student, click on: Careers Tab→ Explore RoadTrip Nation Videos→ Find your road→ Define Your Road
**Select your interests to help you find videos related to careers that may be of interest to you. Select a few videos to watch.
Naviance is a comprehensive college and career readiness software to provide students with college planning and career assessment tools.
Throughout the year, your student will participate in activities focused on college, career, and military readiness, which are designed to help your student identify their interests and learning styles. Naviance will help them make more informed decisions when planning for future classes as well as college and career opportunities.
Other important things to remember:
**This program is ALWAYS available to you and your student, and you can log in anytime through SSO to explore more colleges and careers when you have time.
**It's IMPORTANT to remember that students use the Naviance program all the way through high school, completing assessments, surveys, goal planning, 4-year high school planning, transcripts, college recommendation requests, college applications, scholarship searches, etc.
**If you have questions about Naviance, contact your counselor for help!
