He is Risen! I am looking forward to being together to celebrate the Risen Christ with you this weekend. We have a lot of great things happening, make sure to check them out.

On Friday at 7:00pm we will be gathering to celebrate the cross and the death of Jesus. In order to understand Easter, we have to first understand the cross.

Then be praying for the team on Saturday for our Special Needs Egg Hunt. We have over 60 people registered for this event and are looking forward to loving our community well in the Name of Jesus.

And then the activities begin at 9:00am on Sunday the 31st. We will be having coffee and muffins in the morning and then two egg hunts for kids! Plan on coming early and bringing a friend!

I will be preaching the Resurrection text in Luke 24 about the disciples on the road to Emmaus. They are surprised by Christ and the call will be for us to be as well.

If you are interested, this is a podcast on the historical perspective of the crucifixion. It is a podcast called “The Rest is History” by a historian named Tom Holland (not the actor) who, while not professing faith necessarily himself, has written positively toward Christianity in many of his works. 1. Pray for this week’s Ground Floor, Good Friday, Easter Egg Hunts, and Resurrection

Sunday Celebration.

2. Pray for our lead Pastor, John Eger, as he leads us through this very special weekend.

3. Praise the Lord for all those who stepped up and helped us cope with last weekend’s flooding.

4. Pray for Office Manager, Amy Pelletier, recovering from a kidney stone procedure this week.

5. Pray for the Benner family as services for Deanna’s grandmother were held this week.

6. Praise the Lord for last Sunday’s Celebration of Life Service for Linton Libby.

7. Praise the Lord for Rachael Spader’s Spring Break Mission on the Amazon River with CRU.

8. Pray healing for Dawn Mattera, now laid low for 3 weeks in Romania with Influenza A.

9. Pray for all the shut Ins who are not able to be with us this Easter weekend.

10. Praise the Lord for our visitation by Gladys Christopher from Zambia.

Due to financial and personal circumstances I was not able to attend the program in Montana. Instead, I am on my way (today 3/21/24!) to a different program in Rogaland, Norway! It is very similar to the one I was supposed to be in if I went to Montana. It is a condensed version of the program making it a three-month period instead of nine months. (As you can imagine that cut the cost down significantly.) This is still a YWAM program, and I will be getting the same training. Please pray for safe travels and that God would bring His word to life to me as I study! …and that I would make lots of good friends.

Toby is kindly asking for prayers for the following:

• Healing of his knee
• Provision of $2000 for his Chicago Eagles trip this summer.
• Preparation for this trip.
• Preparation for sports ministry this summer and in the future.

Let's be faithful in prayer for our youngest missionary going onto the field soon!

For April Ground Floor.

We will be introducing some of the work of Augustine of Hippo. He was a 5th-century theologian and pastor. Much of what we understand about Christianity as Evangelical Protestants in 2024 is still owed to much of what Augustine wrote.

We will be reading a helpful introduction and accessible book called On the Road with Saint Augustine: A Real-World Spirituality for Restless Hearts by James K.A. Smith. It details Augustine's life and his understanding of a life with God.

In our next Read Scripture Together plan we'll be taking a look at the whole Bible as a grand epic, full of story, prophecy, wisdom, and more. With so much here, it’s easy to get lost. In The Big Picture #2, we will take a bird’s-eye tour of the entire Bible, introducing key people and core themes to help you see the forest before we dive into the trees.
