One of the first items to be removed in order to start construction was the flag pole. Concerned with the fact that a group of 6th graders would miss their opportunity to raise and lower the flags each day, Mrs. Kaufmann requested a temporary pole. This has allowed the tradition to continue along with the important lessons of how to fold and raise the flag, requirements for lighting, and when flags should only be raised to half staff. Mart ISD appreciates the pride in our country that Mrs. Kaufmann instills in our students.

This year's district theme is all about history and the legacy we leave behind. We want to teach our students about Ex-Students and where they are today. We are focusing, as educators, on the impact we have on our students and how we want to be remembered. We will also assist our students in setting goals for themselves and promote not only college and career goals, but also character and integrity expectations. History has its eyes on the Panthers!
