Dear Jackson Elementary Families,

Welcome back! I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing winter break filled with joy, connection, and cherished memories. As we step into the new year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the amazing growth we’ve seen in our students so far and to look ahead with excitement for all the learning and opportunities that await. We’re thrilled to have our hallways buzzing with energy again and to continue partnering with you to support your child’s success.

Strong attendance is at the heart of student success, and being in school every day helps our children build the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to thrive. This is also a great time to re-establish positive routines, like getting plenty of rest, setting out supplies the night before, and starting the day with a healthy breakfast. These habits go a long way in helping students feel prepared and focused.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work together to make this a wonderful year of learning and growth for all our students. Let’s make 2025 a fantastic year for our Jackson Elementary community!

Jackson Elementary Families,

Each time you come in to pick up your student early - remember to bring in your ID. It's important all the time, but more so as our new secratary, Mr. Pat Carroll, gets to know our students and families.

Please start using the attendance email to report absences as your primary reporting choice.

If your student is absent from school, please email the attendance office at JAEattendance@everettsd.org to let us know the following:

• Student first and last name:
• Student ID:
• Date(s) absent:
• Reason for the absence:
• Parent/Guardian name:
• Parent/Guardian phone number (for verification):
  • Make sure you are sending this from the email that is on record with the school.

Parents/guardians needing language assistance to provide a written note may use the district’s Communication Line for Non-English-Speaking Families by calling 425-385-4011.

Please contact the school as soon as possible. However, you may report your child’s absence(s) within 30 days.

If your student arrives late to school or goes to class from breakfast (after 9:15 am) they must come to the office to check in.

Scenarios where students do not check in at the office often results in and attendance call going home because the teacher marked the student absent before they arrived to the classroom. If the office is aware of the student's late arrival by checking into the office, we can adjust their absence to a tardy.

Please send students to school with appropriate warm clothing.

If you need assistance reach out to your teacher, our counselors, or the office. (Coats, shoes, hats, gloves)

We want to thank you all for a fabulous end of 2024 with our December events! Our Pajama Spirit Day was a big hit with so many folks getting in the comfy spirit, and the students had a great time at Holiday Shop picking out their gifts for their loved ones! Thank you to all of you who contributed donations and your time to make this our best Holiday Shop yet!

We hope everyone had a restful winter break and is ready to kick off 2025 with some fun PTA events! We start out January with our Everett Silvertips Fundraiser on 1/10; we hope you’ll join to sell some raffle tickets and watch the game. Our PTA meeting on 1/16 will help launch our WATCH DOGS/CATS program this year. MOD Pizza Monday Fundraiser will return on 1/20; it’s a great way to end a long weekend! We wrap up a busy month with Wacky Tacky Spirit Day and another movie night on 1/24; we’ll be screening Wish and hope to see you there!

We may just be beginning 2025, but we are already thinking ahead to our next school year and our PTA Board for next year. If you are interested in serving on the board or being part of the Nominating Committee, please email us: jacksonptaemail@gmail.com

Everett Silvertips Fundraiser - Friday, January 10

The Youth Hockey Partners of Everett is partnering with Jackson PTA! Adult and student volunteers are needed to help sell 50/50 raffle tickets before and during the first and second periods of the game.

Volunteers are welcome to find open seats and enjoy the third period of the game in the stands.

Please come join us at our meeting. Your voice matters! We will kick off our WATCH D.O.G.S. and WATCH C.A.T.S. Program; come learn more!

SPIRIT DAY - Friday, January 24

Wacky Tacky Day!

Dress in your best mis-matched, backwards, inside out clothes, and style your hair in the wildest ways. As always, please be respectful of school dress code.

Movie Night - Wish - Friday, January 24 starting at 5:30 pm

Join us in the Jackson Cafeteria for a fun movie night with the whole family! We’ll have free popcorn and water, as well as other concessions for sale. Bring your cozy blankets and pillows to enjoy the show! Please note this is not a drop off event and adults must stay with their kids.

Suggested donation of $3 per family.
