Tiger Talk
District Newsletter - November 3, 2024
Superintendent's Message
Loveland Tiger Families,
This week will operate a little differently because we will have a “Remote Learning Day” across the district on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The reason for this change is to allow more time for staff members to hold conferences with parents and family members without losing a student learning day.
November 5 is Election Day, and Loveland Early Childhood Center is a polling location. In years past, we have canceled classes on Election Day at LECC, LPS, and LES to use the day for conferences. That created a day of lost instruction for students in PreK - Grade 4 while our students at LIS, LMS, and LHS still attended class. By shifting to a district-wide “Remote Learning Day,” we’ve eliminated confusion for families and created more opportunities for parents of older students to opt-in to conferences.
Students at all levels will be given assignments and materials to review and practice. This is also good practice for us as a district because the State of Ohio requires us to establish online learning day plans that we would use in the event of extended closures.
If you have questions, you can always reach me at mikebroadwater@lovelandschools.org.
Go Tigers!

Loveland Schools Foundation Awards Staff Grants
Last week, staff members across the district learned they were awarded grants by the Loveland Schools Foundation. There were big smiles on display as the Prize Patrol popped into classrooms to share the news.
Staff members were awarded grants for things like science materials, video production equipment for the Middle School News Network, standing desks, flexible classroom furniture, CPR manikins, support for mentoring programs, virtual reality equipment, reading materials, and more. Nearly 40 staff members had their grant requests funded for a total of more than $12,000 in grant funding.
A big thanks to the Loveland Schools Foundation for their amazing generosity and support of our staff. Thank you also to the volunteers and donors who support the Foundation. Learn more about the Loveland Schools Foundation here: https://www.lovelandschoolsfoundation.org/
Pass-It-On Food Drive 2024
Loveland City School District is supporting LIFE Food Pantry with the Pass-It-On Food Drive! This district-wide food drive has been helping families in need for 23 years.
Food donated during Pass-It-On will help LIFE Food Pantry create Thanksgiving and holiday food baskets for 300 families registered through the LIFE Pantry. This program is one of the largest initiatives for the pantry and could not be done without the generosity of our Tiger families.
The food drive runs Monday, November 4, through Thursday, November 21, culminating in a well-orchestrated delivery event on Thursday morning. LIS and LMS students will walk their food items to Prince of Peace Church. For all other buildings, volunteers will ensure the donations are delivered where they need to be. Student volunteers help assemble and distribute the baskets in time for the holidays.
Look for more information from your student’s teacher or building principal about what items are needed for each class. Thank you to the Loveland staff, student volunteers, parent-teacher organizations, local churches, and LIFE Food Pantry volunteers who team up to make this special event a success!

Elf, The Musical - at Loveland High School
Christmas spirit starts early in Loveland with a production of Elf the Musical at Loveland High
School November 13-16. This show is a great start to the family holidays and will have you
pulling out your decorations extra early.
A baby who crawled into Santa’s sack and grew up at the North Pole with the elves finds out he
actually is human. When he sets off to find his family in New York City, Buddy’s adventures
show him the good and the bad of living in the big city.
Will people believe he really knows “the big guy”? Can he raise enough Christmas spirit to get
Santa’s sleigh to fly and save his dad’s publishing company from ruin?
Over 70 students are involved in this production - the backstage crew, the actors singing and
dancing on stage, and the orchestra playing the stick-in-your-head sparklejollytwinklejingley tunes.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and senior citizens. Order yours here:
