Swimmers are Thankful for Friends and Fitness
Thanksgiving Workout 2016
Holiday Fun
Greenville Splash swimmers are off to a great start to the holiday season by finishing our most popular and oldest team tradition. We had 45 swimmers attend our big event this year. There were 10 lanes of swimmers swimming 100 x 100's, 75's, or 50's. Everyone stayed on the same interval to share the camaraderie. It was fun to see so many swimmers swim their first ever distance event and surpass the yardage they had ever swum before.
We look forward to everyone staying fit and relieving stress this holiday season by maintaining your workout routine. Let Greenville Splash and your friends hold you accountable for making it to workout. Make a new year's goal to join us at the Charlotte meet Jan. 21-22. We have lots of girls planning to go. Come on guys, we need you for some mixed relays!
There are many schedule changes over the holidays so check the schedule below and with your aquatic facility. We will post reminders on Facebook. Check out the calendar section of the website or facebook for more information about our USMS club. We always welcome all swimmers to any of our workouts, events and socials. Join the fun!

Inspirational Influence
I usually don't write too many articles that are personal, but a few weeks ago, Masters Swimming lost a legend. He was one of my closest and dearest friends, Emmett Hines. Emmett was a long time volunteer for USMS, author of many swimming books, and Masters Coach for H2Ouston Swims. Emmett was the most influential person in my life. He was part big brother, father figure, best friend, mentor, colleague and coach to me for the past 30 years. I am so lucky to have had the chance to get to know him and have him be an integral part of my life. My heart is so full of sadness, but I am beyond grateful for the time he spent with me. He shaped me into the person, swimmer, and coach I am today. When I moved to Greenville, South Carolina there were not many Masters swim programs in the area. So I created Greenville Splash and immersed myself into building a fitness swim program for adults. I based the Greenville Splash program on all the lessons I learned from Emmett and from my time on H2Ouston Swims Masters. I'll try to honor him every time I step on deck to coach or swim. His passion for swimming will continue.
Sincerely, Coach Leslie
