LPS Tiger Talk
August 30, 2024
Message From The Principal
Dear LPS Families,
We've been working hard each day to establish routines, procedures, and expectations for an amazing school year. Although it takes time to explicitly teach, model, and establish common expectations within a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) framework, it's time well spent that creates a great place for students and staff to learn and grow.
We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you and your children this year. Please reach out at any time with questions or concerns. Have a wonderful holiday weekend. We will see our Tigers back on Tuesday!
Sincerely,
Kevin Fancher

A Note From The Clinic
Change Of Clothing
Sometimes kids spill milk, have an accident, a bloody nose or get wet on the playground. To help ease the anxiety of having to change clothes at school and because the clinic doesn’t always have an extra supply, we are asking that families send in a complete change of clothing inside a Ziploc bag. The bag can be kept in your child’s backpack for such incidents. Please include the following:
- Pants
- Shirt
- Underwear
- Socks
***Please be sure to label the bag with your child’s name.
Counselor's Corner ~ A Note From Mrs. Chandler
Mrs. Chandler (School Counselor) had a great time visiting all classrooms this week so that students could learn more about her and her role at LPS. She and Mrs. Osborn (Speech/Language Pathologist) will be visiting all classrooms through the month of September to teach about Social Thinking with 1st and 2nd graders. Social Thinking is one aspect of our social emotional learning curriculum that we address here at LPS. These lessons focus on showing positive behaviors, being confident in their interactions with others and being problem solvers. We focused on expected and unexpected behaviors this past week. Please see the attachment below for more information on these lessons. We encourage you to talk with your child about what they are learning! If you have any questions you can contact Darcie Chandler at chandlda@lovelandschools.org.

LEPTA Mother/VIP & Son Dance
Please join us for the inaugural Mother/VIP & Son Dance! SIGN UP TODAY - SPACE IS LIMITED!
Who can attend the dance?
The dance is inviting students from LES & LPS (1-4th grade) to attend with their Mother or Very Important Person.
Where can I sign up?
Tickets are available now on our website!: https://www.lovelandlepta.org/
Can my other children attend that are NOT in LPS or LES?
Unfortunately no, due to limited space and the large volume of each class size, we are limiting to LES and LPS students only.
What if I have kids in multiple grades at LPS & LES can I bring them both?
Absolutely! When registering more than one student from LES or LPS we just ask for an additional $5 per child.
Can we drop our kids off?
No, this is a bonding experience for you and your child. All attendants need to have an official “date” either their Mother or VIP.
Can I bring other friends with my son?
No, each student needs to register with their parent or VIP. We recommend you plan a double date.
Will there be food?
We will have bottled water available and all guests will receive a sweet treat at the end of the evening. We encourage our couples to have a fun dinner date together before they arrive.
What is the attire?
FUN and Comfortable! Use our bright NEON colors from the “Glow” stick theme as inspiration. *** Please, NO heels to help protect the gym floors.
My kid doesn’t like to dance, what else will there be to do?
We will have couples bingo and group trivia, face painting, and weather permitting, corn hole and basketball outside.
