ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Bijou's Perfect Attendance Board
Super Congratulations to Maestro Goldenberg and Maestra Tombs class for reaching 20 days of Perfect Attendance. A big Congratulations to Maestro Cortes and Maestro Eckhart's class for reaching 30 days of Perfect Attendance during the week of November 18th-22nd.
We had a 92.97% attendance rate for this week.
Attendance Matters
We look forward to an amazing year of learning and growing together. Please remember that attendance is a huge factor in making sure your child has a successful year. We want to see every student every day! The goal is for each student to attend at least 95% of school days (missing no more than 10 days for the entire year). Independent study will be available for planned extended absences of 3 up to 14 days (pending approval).
Perfect Attendance Totals by Class
A class receives perfect attendance when all students are in class. When classes receive 10 days of perfect attendance they get to choose between a Popcorn Party, Pajama Day, Eat lunch on stage, Spirit Day, Homework pass or anotther activity of their choice.

ALL students go outside for recess!! If the temperature is below 10°, we generally stay inside for recess. However, 10° and above, even with snowy conditions, we go outside!
PLEASE take this opportunity to get proper cold weather gear for your child, so she/he is prepared for school. This includes:
Snow boots, Snow pants, Winter coat (sweatshirt, sweater, cotton clothing of any kind is just not appropriate for a top layer)
Gloves (waterproof preferred), Hat
It is also helpful to have kids keep an extra pair of socks in their backpacks.
Help your kids stay healthy, dry, and warm!
Please remember to label ALL the clothing your child might take off
during the day.

VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT
Parent volunteers are an essential component of our TWBI program. We appreciate the commitment you made to sign up for a parent committee and volunteer within the classroom. In order to volunteer, you must have completed the Volunteer Packet. If you completed a volunteer packet in a previous year, you are already in the system and are good to volunteer with teacher permission! If you want to volunteer for a field trip or lead an afterschool club, you will need to get fingerprinted. We can help you through that process in the front office.
If you have not completed the volunteer packet it is available at this link: Volunteer Packet. If you have any questions about your volunteer status you can check with our secretary.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
Math tutoring at LTCC
The math club has started its K-12 tutoring and we welcome all children from Kindergarten through 12th grade to come to the college to get help with their mathematics. The volunteer tutors will be in the Mezzanine, halfway up the main stairway, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Monday through Thursdays, except on Thanksgiving week and Veterans Day, until the week before finals. The children should bring their math to do and the math club volunteers will help them. There is no charge for this tutoring and no appointments are needed.
We look forward to helping our community children with their math learning,
