The youth deer hunt is October 5th & 6th, 2024. We will be registering deer at the Arkansaw Community Center--one session being in the morning and one session being in the evening on both days (times are not set yet until after Tuesday's meeting). The kids can bring their deer in to get weighed---no need to pre-register—contest is for doe and bucks! Watch our Facebook page for updates and more details.
Contest/youth hunt is for kids 15 years of age and younger
**An adult 18 years of age or older must accompany the youth hunter. An adult cannot attend more than two youth hunters at one time. Only one youth hunter can follow the mentor hunting program if the adult is attending to more than one youth hunter. For more information and youth deer hunt regulations and rules, see the link below.
Letter from Mrs. Sabelko
This week I would like to give a big shout-out to celebrating the students and their hallway behaviors! It can be difficult for middle school students to navigate from place to place in between classes with four minutes to get from location to location and the students are doing excellent in this category of responsibility. Behaviors to Encourage to Continue At Home & Out of School: Students walking from place to place. This is especially helpful in keeping our school safe during busy times in crowds. Students “staying on the right” side of the hallway. As students get older and pay more attention to their surroundings, especially where they are in relationship to others, it will be a respectful way to move from place to place. Students use time management to leave and arrive on time, as well as timing the length of their stops and breaks. Earlier this week I had the opportunity to attend 7th grade volleyball games and was very impressed with the sportsmanship, cooperation, and leadership. It is really great to see and celebrate our students in all of their various co-curricular activities. We have many opportunities for students to participate from sports, to Student Council, Forensics, E-Sports, Jazz Band, and Honors Choir, including Choirpolooza! If your student has any questions about how to join or what might be a great fit co-curricular please ask any of our staff members to receive more information. We know co-curriculars are a great way to cultivate a sense of belonging and build meaningful peer connections. Having a sense of community and connection is great for adults in a school community! I am not sure if you know, but we have a supportive parent and families group that helps all of our schools in many ways, this is called the Panther Parent Teacher Organization. If you are interested in learning more they have an email address and would love to hear from you! Please email them at: pto@durand.k12.wi.us Warm Regards, Mrs. Sarah Sabelko
