Unified Elementary Concert
Unified Melodies: Young Virtuosos
Students at Washington Primary, Booth Free and Burnham Schools had the opportunity to perform in front of their family members and peers at Shepaug Valley School for our annual Region 12 Unified Elementary Concert. Fourth and fifth grade chorus and instrumental students shared their talents and skills that they have been sharpening over the last few months.
Mrs. Doiron, our general music education teacher and Mrs. Oppel, our instrumental music teacher, brought together our young musicians from the three elementary schools with only one joint practice, for a seamless performance.
The seats were full of family members who were just glowing with pride. It was evident that this event brought a lot of joy to everyone who attended. The energy in the auditorium was palpable! Our fourth and fifth grade students did such a wonderful job!

The following students were inducted Ethan Cacace, Juliet Eddy, Kip Faison, Gavin Giroux, Gabriella Hilario, Amelia Jacob, Peyton King, Fin Konik, Nate Konik, Hayden Myles, Peyton Ongley, Alex Ostrosky, Amanda Phillip, Alexandra Quilli, Krista Rickmers, Tilly Skiles, Zoe Soletsky, Nathan Steinis, Sophie Tibbatts, Peyton Witt and Reed Woerner.
Statistical Analysis Mastery
Algebra I students analyzed given test score data from three classes and used statistical analysis to identify which class performed the best. The students represented the data graphically with boxplots, dot plots, and histograms, and calculated values including the mean and median of the data sets to help with their analysis.
They justified the graphical representation and measure of central tendency used to justify their conclusions based on whether the data was skewed or approximately symmetrical. Finally, they conducted a peer evaluation gallery walk of their work and edited their projects accordingly.
Ice Cream Creations
Twenty-two students attending the PA Farm Show Trip recently embarked on a delightful culinary journey at Turkey Hill Dairy.
The highlight of their visit was the hands-on experience of creating their own personalized ice cream flavors while gaining insights into the fascinating ice cream-making process.
Immersed in the art of flavor innovation, these students explored the intricate steps of ice cream production, gaining a delectable blend of education and indulgence during their Turkey Hill Dairy adventure.
Shepaug Alumni Insights
