Dekalb County Public Library Techie Camp
Libraries offer more than books! Check out this exciting opportunity!
With support from the Nordson Corporation Foundation, TECH CORPS will implement its Techie Camp program in partnership with the DeKalb County Public Library for elementary and middle school students during the summer.
Techie Camp is a full-day, week-long program designed to engage elementary (ES) and middle school (MS) students in hands-on, interactive STEM-related activities. Students take a deep dive into subject matter focused on Robotics, Programming, Android App Development, 3D Printing, Digital Fabrication or Web Development and emerge with skills that are useful in today’s classroom and tomorrow's workplace. Each Techie Camp concludes with students presenting their final project to their parents and peers on Friday afternoon.
Scholastic
Scholastic Summer Read-A-Paloooza
From website: "The free program unites communities in a nationwide campaign that celebrates reading for fun while improving access to books during the summer. For 2024, we are excited to share a brand new kids experience in Scholastic Home Base, a free digital destination which offers full books, live events, and games in a safe community for readers!"
SORA
Sora's Sweet Reads Summer Reading Program
Join us this summer with OverDrive’s annual reading program. Sora Sweet Reads is designed for schools in the United States and Canada (for our global program, click here) to encourage students to keep reading all year long. We’re offering a collection of free, simultaneous-use ebooks (and select audiobooks) that spans grades K-12. These titles will be available to participating schools and prominently displayed in Sora so it’s easy for students to find their next sweet read.
If your students read them all, they can always check out more books from their public library without ever leaving Sora.
