Creighton Mini Medical School
Beveridge Drama Department will perform our fall comedy, The Internet is a Distract-- OH LOOK A KITTEN!, on October 24 and 25 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Micah only has 45 minutes to finish her book report on The Great Gatsby. She just needs to check a few facts on the internet first. Unfortunately, the web is a nefariously wacky place where boxing cats, Russian spies, and competitive streaming services threaten to take over Micah's schoolwork, or worse. Will she finish in time? Find out at Beveridge's production of The Internet is a Distract-- OH LOOK A KITTEN! Tickets are $5 for general admission seats and can be purchased online at https://bevmagnet.booktix.com/ or at the door on the day of the performance. All students in attendance must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We can't wait to see you there!

From the Sports Desk
We had 2 runners compete at the State Cross country meet today at Papillon LaVista South. They both represented Beveridge very well. Zeke Mayle placed 67th out of 317 runners in the competitive division. Avery Feeney ran in the open division and placed 82nd out of 266 runners. Coach Hartman and I are very proud of their efforts!

Season 1 is a wrap! The Fall sports season flew by so let's re-cap how our Bulldog athletes finished their respective seasons...
Football - Our football team played their final game of the season against the Davis Aviators at home last Friday. It was a scoring explosion as Coach Frieberg's Bulldogs put up 46 points. The final score was 46 to 8. It was an amazing season for the Beveridge FB program as they finished 3-3 for the year. Our coaches are looking forward to next season to build on the success they had this year. Way to go Bulldogs!
Volleyball - Our girls played two tournament games to finish their season. They opened with the King Wildcats and quickly took care of them in 2 sets. Their final match was on the road against the Bryan Bears. Our ladies came up on the losing end of this one but finished 6th place overall in the city. Great season girls!
X-Country - City finals at Bryan Middle were held 10-8. Results from this meet were posted in last week's Sports Desk issue.
Season 2 Updates: Season 2 sports are Boys Basketball and Girl's swimming.
Boys BB - Tryouts for Boy's Basketball (7th and 8th grade only) will be held after school on Monday 10-21 and Tuesday 10-22 in the gym. Practice will start on Wednesday 10-23. Stay tuned for future news regarding Boys Basketball.
Girl's Swimming - Girl's swimming starts on Monday 10-21 if and only if Burke's pool is operational. The latest news regarding the status of the Jill Garlock Natatorium is that Burke is waiting on the city inspector to give them the green light. If the pool is not inspected by Monday, practice will be pushed back until the pool is ready to go. There are many pools amongst the OPS middle schools that are not operational. I will know more after my Athletic Director's meeting on 10-23. Please be patient as we are trying to come up with a solution for how we can get this swim season off the ground.
Until next week,
Best Regards and Go Bulldogs!

Health Screenings 7th Grade
Students enrolled in Omaha Public Schools are provided free health screenings in accordance with Nebraska State Statute. Screenings are conducted throughout the school year and may begin as early as August. Students in early childhood, kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, seventh, and tenth grades are screened for hearing, vision, dental, height, and weight per the rules and regulations set forth by the state of Nebraska. The screening is conducted to help identify health concerns in as early a stage as possible, in an effort to enhance learning. Screening is not intended to be diagnostic, but to identify students with potential problems. Findings that need further evaluation by a health care provider will be sent home. Per Nebraska State Regulations, a parent/guardian may supersede the mandated school health screening by submitting a statement signed by an authorized health care provider attesting that the required screening has been completed in the previous six months. An updated healthcare provider statement must be submitted each school year. Contact your school nurse for any questions regarding screening.
