Warrior Weekly News
A Weekly Newsletter for Warrior Families and Students
May 10, 2024
Greetings Warrior Families and Friends,
It was another great week here at Muskego High School. A week in which I found myself in awe of the immense range of activities that our Warriors engage in. From incredible learning opportunities in the over 200 different courses offered in our building, to the diverse activities found in the over 55 different clubs and sports, each of these opportunities provides something different. Hopefully, each unique experience creates some insights and a piece to the puzzle for our students as they navigate their journey through high school and develop their pathway to becoming career, college, and community ready. It truly is an incredible journey to be a part of.
Please remember, a key part of what makes this journey so successful is YOU. Your support of the hard work and discipline required to find success matters. Your encouragement to keep pushing forward as they face adversity and challenges matters. Your willingness to show up to countless events to cheer them on, win or lose, matters. Even though students might not show it all the time, your hugs and care helps them find the courage to dare to be great. Thank you for being awesome partners in the work we do, to ensure every student finds their path to success.
One last important reminder, make sure this weekend is special for all of the Warrior moms out there! I believe I speak for many Warriors when I say that many of us are the people we are, because of the outstanding moms that guided us along the way. Thank you moms! I hope that you all have a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Have an awesome weekend and GO WARRIORS!

Continuing the Conversation
Wouldn’t it be great if we knew exactly when our students would be faced with the situation or peer pressure that might cause them to make a decision they may regret? If only we knew the exact right time for the pep talk and reminder about what you value as a family. Unfortunately, that is just not how it works. Please, continue to have conversations with your kids about where you stand on alcohol, drugs, vaping, and other risky behaviors. Yes, they may give you the infamous teenage eye roll, but that is far better than the emotional turmoil that can occur if they succumb to peer pressure and something bad happens. If you are looking for some suggestions to have these conversations take a look at this short article. As always, if you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to our student services or administrative teams at any time. Being a teenager is hard, but so is being a parent. Let’s continue to work together to help ensure our students stay safe.

Female students were twice as likely as male students to report problems with depression in 2021.
Suicide was the second leading cause of death for Wisconsin youth (ages 10-24) in 2020.

MHS Student Parking
Dear Warrior Families,
We have reached the point in the school year where we have sold and fulfilled the number of parking passes for students that equals the number of student parking spots we have on the high school campus. We know that it is an exciting time in a teenagers life when they get their driver's license and want to continue to provide parking for new drivers moving forward. At this time if a student were to need to purchase a parking pass, it would be for our "satellite" parking lot by the soccer field. There will be a satellite lot specific parking pass issued to the student at a reduced rate of $10, students would need to register their vehicles just as in any other case. These parking passes can be picked up and paid for in the Athletic/Activities Office.
Just as a reminder, any vehicle on campus without the appropriate parking pass may be ticketed by the City of Muskego Police Department.
Please reach out to Mr. Brenton Roberts with any questions: brenton.roberts@muskegonorway.org or 262-971-1790 ext 4502
BUS BEHAVIOR
We would like to remind you that bus behavior is an extension of the school day, and riding on the bus is a privilege afforded to our students. Just as we expect respectful and responsible behavior in the classroom, we also expect the same standards to be upheld while traveling to and from school. It's crucial for the safety and well-being of all students that good behavior is maintained on the bus. We kindly request your support in reinforcing this message with your child, emphasizing the importance of respectful conduct during their bus rides. Together, we can ensure a positive and safe environment for all students. Thank you for your cooperation.
