As we begin the fifth week of the school year, I am proud to highlight the collective efforts that continue to shape our vibrant and dynamic school community. Each week brings with it new accomplishments, challenges, and opportunities for growth, and it’s been inspiring to witness the enthusiasm with which our students and staff have embraced the year.
From classrooms to athletic fields, our schools are buzzing with creativity, collaboration, and curiosity. I’ve seen firsthand how our educators are creating engaging learning environments, while our students are stepping up to take on new challenges with confidence. We are building a culture of support, where every individual is valued and encouraged to succeed.
This spirit of connection extends beyond the classroom as well. Our ongoing community events and family engagements highlight the vital role your participation plays in fostering an inclusive environment where every student can thrive. I encourage you to stay involved, whether through attending school events, reaching out to teachers, or staying connected online.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we are creating a foundation for success that will last throughout the year and beyond.
Maple Run Celebrations
Staff Spotlight: Sarah McNulty, Early Childhood Special Educator
This week, we are excited to introduce Sarah McNulty, a dedicated Early Childhood Special Educator within Maple Run Unified School District. Sarah plays a vital role in ensuring that young children with disabilities can fully participate in everyday routines and activities, whether at home with their families, in child care, or in one of Maple Run’s five preschool locations.
Sarah travels between these locations—our preschool sites, childcare centers, and homes—to provide direct services and case management for early education. Her commitment to delivering personalized support where it’s most needed helps ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive during these important early years.
We are grateful for Sarah’s expertise, dedication, and the positive impact she brings to our youngest learners. Thank you, Sarah, for all you do!
Wellness Tip of the Week: Take Time to Do Something You Love
At Maple Run, we're encouraging everyone to take a moment this week to do something you love. Whether it’s reading a good book, cooking a favorite recipe, or spending time with a pet, making space for activities that bring you joy can have a profound impact on your well-being. Doing what we love isn’t just a luxury—it’s a form of self-care that can boost your mood, reduce stress, and improve mental health.
Engaging in enjoyable activities releases feel-good hormones like dopamine and serotonin, which can lower stress and elevate your mood. Taking time for yourself also helps prevent burnout, making you feel refreshed, more focused, and even more productive when returning to daily tasks. Whether it’s practicing a hobby, listening to music, or simply relaxing outdoors, these small moments of joy can enhance your creativity, increase motivation, and help you feel more balanced and grounded.

The atmosphere was lively and filled with excitement as families and students came together to kick off the new school year. It was wonderful to see so many families in attendance, showcasing the strong community involvement that makes our school so special.
Families had the chance to tour classrooms, meet teachers, and explore the school while enjoying delicious sno-cones and popcorn. Attendees also connected with representatives from programs like Open Doors, Athletics, and Busing, gaining valuable insights into the opportunities available for their children.
