August 2024
Welcome to TUVA 2024-25!
It's been a great start to the 2024-25 school year. We are excited to welcome you as part of our TUVA Toro Family! We hope you and your scholar have had a successful start to your virtual learning this year. If there is anything we can do to answer any of your questions, help guide you in the right direction, or provide any support, please visit us in our TUVA Zoom Office/Help Desk. Our administrative staff, office staff, counselors, student support specialists, and technical support team are there daily from 8:00-4:00 ready to provide a helping hand.
Open House Follow Up
Thank you to all who attended Open House on August 14th and 15th. If you were unable to attend our Open House, we still want to make sure you have the opportunity to connect with your scholar's teachers.
K-6 families: Please connect with your child's teacher in Class Dojo. This is the best way to direct message your child's teacher and see what is happening in their classroom. You may also email your teacher. You can find your teacher's email address in Canvas or on this TUVA Staff Contact List.
7-12 families: Reach out to your child's teacher via email. You can find your teacher's email address in Canvas or on this TUVA Staff Contact List.
Please be sure you are able to access your scholar's Canvas page. This will be your best insight into what is happening in class, your child's assignments, and their grades. For directions on how to see your child's canvas as parent or guardian, click the link below.
Attendance Matters!
Regular attendance and participation is critical for scholar success. We appreciate all of your efforts to help our scholars arrive on time and ready to learn!
TUVA Teacher Led Students are expected to participate actively in class. While we would love for students to have their cameras on throughout the class, we know there are times this is not possible. In the event a scholar is not able to turn on their camera, it must be evident that they are present and active. This could be demonstrated through voice participation, lesson engagement, or interaction in the chat.
Self-Scheduled Students need to log into their APEX courses in order to maintain those courses on their dashboard. It is recommended to spend 1 hour per day on each course, or approximately 5 hours per week on each course. Self-Scheduled teachers are available in the TUVA Zoom Help Desk to assist scholars with their work and assessments.
