A Message from the Principal
As we head into February break, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to making Fang Fest such a special celebration. This week we have shown our creativity and school pride.
It was inspiring to see students and staff come together, upholding traditions while also embracing new ones. From the incredible energy of our long-standing events like Hallway Decorations and Theme Days to the exciting addition of Rock Band Night, featuring two student bands from Souhegan-- The Good Intentions and MA Duece along with a very enthusiastic crowd, Fang Fest showcased the best of our school spirit.
To all who participated—whether through planning, performing, competing, or cheering from the sidelines—thank you for making this week both meaningful and memorable.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable break!

March 11 is Town Election Day!
Did you know that local town elections have a direct impact on your school? Town elections decide important issues like school budgets, building projects, and policies that affect students, teachers, and the greater community. The people elected to school boards and town leadership make decisions about policies, teacher salary, and even what resources your school gets. Your vote matters! If you’ll be 18 by Election Day (March 11, 2025), you can register to vote. Click here for more details.

Rhino's Run by Robert Lipsyte
"Ronnie Rhinehart, better known as Rhino on the field, is the captain of his high school team in Woodhaven, a small town obsessed with football. His only goal is to earn a Division I football scholarship so he can escape this town forever. Until the day he punches Josh Kremens in the face. To avoid serious punishment and stay in school, Ronnie is forced to join Group, a cast of misfits who discuss their feelings with a counselor. . ."

Senior Project News
Students had their second panel meeting last week. Scores from that meeting are available on PowerSchool. If your student earned an NP, you should have received a communication from their mentor with an action plan to get back on track. The third panel meeting will come up quickly after vacation on Thursday, March 27th. If you have any questions about your child's progress, please contact their mentor or the Senior Project coordinators Kathy Maddock and Ryan Lemieux.

Snaggles
What is your role at Souhegan?
School Mascot
How long have you been with Souhegan?
I've been prowling the halls of Souhegan for 33 years—since the very beginning! That’s over three decades of school spirit, Fang Fest celebrations, and cheering on our incredible students.
What do you love about your job?
EVERYTHING! Being Snaggles, the one and only Souhegan Saber Tooth Tiger, is the best job in the world! I get to hype up the crowd, bring the school spirit, and make sure every Fang Fest, pep rally, and game day is full of energy! I love seeing students, staff, and fans come together to cheer on our teams and celebrate our amazing school. Plus, the occasional high-five, dance battle, or photo op? That’s just a bonus! GO SABERS!
What do you like to do outside of work?
When I’m not busy bringing the spirit to Souhegan, you can find me sharpening my detective skills on a good mystery novel, perfecting my victory dance moves, or sneaking in a catnap (even fierce tigers need their rest!). I also love exploring the great outdoors, practicing my pounce, and, of course, cheering on my fellow Sabers wherever they go.
If you were given one wish what would it be?
If I had one wish, it would be for endless school spirit and energy for all Sabers—so every game is loud, every assembly is electric, and every Fang Fest is the best one yet! Oh, and maybe an unlimited supply of snacks… even mascots get hungry!
Do you have a favorite quote or mantra?
My favorite mantra is: "Once a Saber, always a Saber!" It reminds me that no matter where we go, we’re always part of the Souhegan family—fierce, loyal, and full of spirit!
