A message from the Principal - Mrs. Bookman
Dear Suffield Family,
This week at school, we focused on Habit 6: Synergize in exciting and meaningful ways. As a school community, we worked together to collect cereal boxes for our local food shelf while also using them for fun activities to celebrate the 100th day of school. Thanks to everyone's teamwork and effort, we collected an incredible 199 boxes! Your commitment to working together toward a common goal truly showed the power of synergy—thank you for making a difference!
This weekend, take some time to practice Habit 6: Synergize with your family by focusing on teamwork, appreciation, and recognizing each other’s strengths. Synergy happens when we value one another and celebrate what makes each person unique. A fun and meaningful way to do this is by sharing positive thoughts with each family member. Try finishing sentences like, “What I admire most about you is…” or “One of my proudest memories of you is…” and see how your words bring a smile to their face! You may even learn something new about the people you love.
Another great way to synergize as a family is by identifying each other’s strengths. Write down two or three strengths for each family member, including yourself, and then share them together. Do you see yourself the same way others see you? Do you recognize new strengths in your loved ones? By valuing and encouraging one another, you’ll strengthen your family bond and experience the true power of synergy. Take this challenge together and make this weekend one to remember!
Have a great weekend!

Inclusion Day - Monday, March 3rd

Inclusion means sharing experiences and embracing each other's differences. Let’s show our support by wearing orange and making our school a welcoming place for everyone. Thank you for being part of this important day and for being so supportive in promoting an inclusive environment.
History of the Event
Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month's origins date back to 1987, when President Ronald Reagan officially declared the observance. We will likely practice 2-3 days per week at Field High School and plan to participate in 2-4 local meets (Tallmadge, Streetsboro, Kent, Field).

Mark your calendars...the mobile dentist will be here on April 10th! Registration forms went home with your student this week. If you need an additional form, please contact the office. You can also register online by clicking here.

Friendly reminder to check the Lost and Found when visiting our school!
We're thrilled to welcome you to our school, whether it's for a parent-teacher conference, a special event, or just to spend some time with your child's class. As you explore our wonderful learning environment, we wanted to take a moment to remind you about an important stop you can make while you're here - our Lost and Found!
Our Lost and Found is a treasure trove of forgotten items, from jackets and lunch boxes to water bottles and notebooks. Sometimes, the smallest and most valuable items end up there, waiting to be reunited with their owners. We encourage you to check the Lost and Found area located near the gym while you're visiting.
We also recommend labeling your child's items with their name and contact information to make it easier for us to return lost items promptly.
Outdoor Recess
Temperatures are starting to drop and we would like to pass along some details about recess, so you can plan accordingly. We will go out to recess if the temperature is above 20 degrees. We would like to remind parents that there are certain areas on the playground where snow boots are required and other areas where snow pants and boots are required during the winter months. If they do not wear the proper attire for these areas, they will have to stay on the blacktop area. Thank you in advance for your help.

Substitutes Needed
We are now hiring classified substitute workers for various roles, including Playground Monitors, Educational Aides, Cafeteria Workers, Secretarial Staff, Custodial Staff, Bus Aides, and Bus Drivers. A current BCI & FBI background check is required before applying for any substitute position. Some positions may also require an aide permit, which the Administration Office can help you obtain. You have the flexibility to work the hours that suit you, and you'll be on call to cover for regular employees. For more details or assistance with the application process, please contact Bev Bable at the Administration Office beverly.bable@fieldlocalschools.org.
Birthday Treats
At this time, we will allow Birthday Treats to be brought to school. We are required to inform you of the Healthy Eating Guidelines (see below) and suggest that you use this when selecting a treat. Whatever you choose, please note that all treats brought to school for the purpose of sharing with others, need to be prepackaged so we are able to know and see the ingredients list. There are many students who have a variety of food allergies and having the ingredients listed helps the school nurse determine if a student with allergies can eat a particular treat.
Suffield CARES
Suffield CARES helps provide “short-term emergency needs” to families in Suffield. If you are in danger of having your electric or heat terminated, being evicted or have other emergency needs, call Mrs. Bookman at school or Chief Rasnick at (330)628-9240.
