This week
In Phonics, we will be focusing on the long "a" sound, specifically the vowel teams "ai" and "ay." 🌟 Students will learn that "ai" typically appears at the beginning or middle of a word, while "ay" is found at the end. This is a great opportunity for them to practice reading and writing words with these sounds!
For Reading, we will introduce the genre of Opinion Text. 📚 Students will make connections between ideas in two different texts and evaluate the reasons authors provide to support their points. We will also work on distinguishing shades of meaning among adjectives like funny, hilarious, silly, and ridiculous. This will help enhance their vocabulary and comprehension skills!
