Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at Jones Primary! The teachers and staff are excited to have you as an important part of our Jaguar team.

One of our biggest goals for the year is to help your child achieve academic excellence in a safe and secure environment. By working together as parents and educators, we will continue to be "Anchored in Excellence". At Jones, we take pride in our relationships with parents and see you as a partner in the important job of educating your children.

Greetings Jags,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year. We are looking forward to seeing our returning students as well as our new students and families.

I am Ms. Burns, the proud principal of A.W. Jones Primary School. The staff and I are looking forward to creating memories and making this the best year ever for each of you! As a member of the Jones Primary family, you now have a SWAG- we call it JAG SWAG. Students Who Achieve Greatness!! With that being said, we will work together to help each of you be GREAT!! I.

Hey Jag family! I am Dr. Jones, one of your assistant principals here at Jones Primary and I can't wait to welcome all our jags back face to face this year because there's one thing I know for sure which is we are better together! Dress Code

Aldine ISD no longer follows a Standardized Dress Attire Policy; therefore, “Uniforms” are NOT required. Student backpacks for PK & Kindergarten students can be clear, mesh or solid (regular/decorative).

Transportation

Information will be communicated as we receive it. Students who ride the bus must have a parent or another adult assigned by the parent must be at the bus stop with the transportation card to pick up the child. If your child is a car rider, please be patient, and follow the procedures to ensure a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal. Pick-Up cards must be picked up up at Meet the Teacher or prior to 1st day of school.

Home Access Center provides parents with helpful information to support their child's educational process. It is important to register and keep your information updated for the school to stay in contact with you at all time.

Parent Volunteers

We love having parent volunteers! A parent meeting will be held in August to provide more information. Please be sure you have done the criminal background check which you will need done prior to volunteering and any field trips. Complete the criminal background check on the Aldine ISD webpage - go to the Community tab and the criminal background check tab is listed under resources.

Class Dojo APP- School Communication

Class Dojo is our campus 2-way communication tool that we use to collaborate with families. Please download the app and your child's teacher will invite you to join our school story.

*Car rider line opens at 7:35 AM

*Instruction Begins at 8:05 AM

* Tardy Bell Rings at 8:15 AM

*School Day Ends at 3:40 PM- We will begin our process at 3:20 for car riders

- Walkers will not be released until 3:40

*Dismissal from 3:40-4:00 PM (Buses dismissed at approximately 3:40 PM)

Parents must walk in after 4:00 to retrieve students.
