Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for Coffee with the Superintendent on Wednesday, October 11! It was an absolute pleasure to connect with our incredible Troy 30-C families and community members during this event. Your thoughts and opinions are valuable to our district. I can't wait to have even more families and community members join us for our next Coffee with the Superintendent on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
Every time I am in our schools, I am overwhelmed by the dedication of our amazing teachers. I also witness the enthusiasm of our students as they learn from these outstanding educators. The Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the annual Great Teacher Award. I encourage you to nominate a Troy 30-C teacher for this prestigious honor. Our teachers pour their hearts into making a difference in the lives of the students we serve, each and every day! Your child(ren)'s attendance matters to all of us at Troy 30-C. We are here to support your child(ren)'s education every day at school by creating a helpful and supportive learning environment. Is your child struggling with daily attendance at school? We are here to help. Please reach out to our Director of Student and Family Services, Jeffrey Peterson, at jpeterson@troy30c.org with questions or concerns that you have.
With the fall weather upon us we know that seasonal illness is here as well. If your child stays home from school sick, please be sure to contact your child(ren)'s to inform them of the absence.

Troy 30-C Parent Safety Discussion
Thank you to those that attended either online or in person our Safety Discussion on Thursday, October 19. Jeff Bean, Safety and Security Coordinator and Sarah Wells, Director of Communications answered questions and provided information regarding safety procedures and practices in classrooms and around the district.

School Device Coverage
Student Chromebook/Tablet Insurance
To sign-up for the district-issued device protection plan, please go to www.schooldevicecoverage.com/signup.
This plan will be effective from the date you submit the application and payment is received by School Device Coverage. The coverage will provide compensation for appropriate claims made regarding accidental damage to a student's computer for the 2023-2024 school year.
September Students of the Month
Congratulations to the September Students of the Month!
William B. Orenic Students of the Month for September were 6th grade students Eliana Witthouse, Katelyn Keim, Payton Walenga, and Abigail Hodge.
Troy Middle School Students of the Month for September were 7th grade students Emani Roland, Iqra Ali, Sophia Torres, and Sarai Grandison. 8th grade students were Rosalia Lukas, Erin Santerelli, Leah Duensing, and Evelyn Coffey.
Troy Trojan Athletics & Activities
Providence Academic Bowl
On October 17, Troy 30-C 7th and 8th grade students participated in the 23rd Annual Junior High Academic Bowl at Providence High School. Participating students compete by taking a written exam in one of the 5 content areas (Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, Science, and Geography). Congratulations to the following students who were honored for their success and represented Troy 30-C with terrific academic achievement.
- Tyson Edman - 3rd place - 8th grade Social Studies
- Aaryn Reyes - 3rd place - 8th grade Math
- Ella Price - 2nd place - 8th grade Math
- Cathryn Governale - 1st place - 8th grade Math
Cross Country IESA State Finals
On Saturday, October 14 the Trojan Cross-Country team competed at the IESA State competition in Bloomington. Despite rainy and windy conditions, the team placed 10th out of 140 teams! Congratulations to all the runners for a terrific Cross-Country season!
Troy 30-C Dance Team
Congratulations to the Troy 30-C Individual Dancers who competed on Saturday, October 21 at Start the Beat Solo Competition.
- 1st place for Malorie Boyer solo in the lyrical category
- 1st place for Cassidy Koerner and Malorie Boyer in the duet category
ILMEA District Junior Festival
These band and choir members took on the extra challenge of recording an audition and were selected as some of the best middle school musicians in the area. Congratulations to Brendan Chew, Evelyn Coffey, Anthony Darin, Dylan Gonzalez, Cathryn Governale, Ady Gray, Taylor Konieczny, David Meza, Annabelle Morris, James Prince, Aaryn Reyes, Arielle Villasin, and David Werrbach who earned a spot in the ILMEA District Junior Festival.
Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce Great Teacher Award Nominations
The Joliet Chamber is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Joliet Area Great Teacher Award. Completed nomination forms must be submitted by 4pm on Monday, November 13, 2023. Thank you for nominating a Troy 30-C Teacher for this prestigious award!
