Outstanding Textbooks: Term 1 textbooks are now overdue. If you have not returned your books to the library already, please do so as soon as possible. We need textbooks returned so that we can issue them for Term 2 students. If you are an AP student registered to take the AP exam, your due date has been extended.
Remediation of Courses Policy: Students earning a D or an F in a UC A-G course will be required to remediate the course to a C or higher. Required remediation may be via course repetition, online credit recovery, and/or summer school. CHS administration and counseling will provide families with necessary information about the way in which your CHS student will remediate a UC A-G course D or F grade. Note: graduation requirement courses that do not factor into A-G completion must be remediated if student earns an F. See CHS Student/Family Handbook for more information.

Rotary Youth Leadership Award
Dear Junior Class Students and Parents:
The Rotary Club of Coronado is happy to announce the return of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award for 2024 (RYLA).
RYLA is a program sponsored by Rotary International for the purpose of encouraging students to become more effective leaders. Through participation in an all-expense paid 3-day camp, students are inspired by a diverse group of exceptional nationally-recognized speakers, experience growth through a mix of fun and thought-provoking activities and are challenged by opportunities to discuss ethical and social issues. The result is that you return to your school and community motivated to take on additional leadership roles and to find additional ways to serve.
Rotary looks for high school juniors who are school and/or community leaders with a strong service background or those students who are leaders-in-the-making with a demonstrated commitment to service.

If Your Student Becomes Ill During the School Day: Students who feel ill MUST report to the nurse’s office. Devices:
- As part of this program, all Coronado High School students are required to bring a fully charged device to school daily. Students who need a device will have the opportunity to check-out a Chromebook during schedule pick-up.
Students Using Personal Devices
CHS students who have personal devices at home may use their own device as an alternative to a CUSD Chromebook. If your student chooses to use a personal device, however, please note that it will not have specific CUSD features, such as testing lockdown browsers and content filters. If your student chooses to use their own device for daily school work, they may still be issued a CUSD Chromebook for state testing in Spring 2024 to meet secure browser requirements.
Students Using CUSD Devices
CHS families who choose to check-out a CUSD Chromebook for their student’s daily school work may keep the device for the duration of their student’s enrollment at CHS, including summers. Students will practice responsibility for operating and maintaining their individual CUSD devices throughout their time at CHS. We also encourage families to purchase the OPTIONAL Mobile Device Protection Plan for CUSD Chromebooks for just $20 a year to limit any fines due to accidental damage. The Protection Plan must be purchased annually within two weeks of the beginning of the school year in order to be valid. A new Protection Plan must also be purchased if a student is provided with a replacement device due to damage/loss of their previous device.
