Good afternoon Arrowwood Families,

This coming week our fifth graders will start to receive information on transitioning to White Pine Middle School. This is always a time filled with mixed emotions as they leave elementary school and move into a new chapter. Tuesday and Thursday the counselor will meet with each of our fifth grade classrooms to start to share information with students on all of the exciting classes offered. Parents are invited on February 4th to join Mr. Champagne, WPMS Principal, for a family presentation at the Arrowwood Conference Center at 6:00 PM. We hope you can join him and learn more about the amazing things happening including classes, electives, sports, and clubs.

Menu changes next week for lunch include:

• Monday - Mini-corn dogs
• Tuesday - Macaroni and Cheese with pretzel rod
• Wednesday - Chicken Drumstick with mashed potatoes
• Thursday and Friday - regularly planned meals.

We have had several very close calls recently where students have almost been injured and need your cooperation. Please review our procedures with anyone who drops off your student. In particular, students are being released before there is supervision, dropped off in the middle of the parking lot exit or at the crosswalk in the parking lot preventing traffic to continue to exit. Your student's safety is our priority.

For the safety of all students and families, students should NOT be released at the crosswalk in the parking lot or allowed to walk unattended to the crosswalk. We have had several students being released in the parking lot to cross in front of traffic or their families' cars are stopping the flow of traffic where others are driving around them in an unsafe manner. PLEASE DO NOT RELEASE YOUR STUDENTS IN THE PARKING LOT OR AT THE PARKING LOT EXIT. If you do not want to exit your car, then you must use the red line drop off and make a right from our lot (see picture below). If you would like to make a left turn from the lot, you must park your vehicle and walk your child to the crossing guard.

Arrowwood Elementary is currently seeking 1 individual to work DAILY as a lunch monitor with the Eagles. This candidate would work the 10:20 AM to 12:30 PM shift daily rotating between recess duty then moving into the lunch room for a classroom at each grade level.
