IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES!
It is important for your child to be present, so please do not make appointments or plans for your child to be away from school on these dates in May.
There are several ways that you can help your child during the testing period. Make sure that your child:
⭐· is well rested before testing each day.
⭐· has breakfast on the morning of testing.
⭐· understands that the SC READY tests are opportunities to show what he/she knows.
⭐· knows that the test covers schoolwork learned throughout the year. Extra study time is not required for the test.
⭐· is reassured about the test-taking experience. Students who are calm do better on tests.
Students will not be allowed to have any electronic devices except their school issued testing devices and necessary medical devices during testing. Electronic devices, including smartwatches, cellphones, calculators, etc. will collected by the teacher prior to testing.
Please make sure that your child is on time for school. Students need to arrive and be in their classrooms before the tardy bell rings at 7:30 a.m. Students who are eating breakfast should be dropped off behind the school by the cafeteria between 7:00 and 7:15 a.m. Students who are not eating breakfast can enter the building through the Ravenel Street doors between 7:15 and 7:30
Let’s work together and make your child’s experience a positive and successful one!
South Carolina Department of Education - SC READY Information for Parents (Grades 3-8) https://ed.sc.gov/tests/middle/sc-ready/information-for-parents/
As the days get warmer and longer we are aware schedules will become busy,
If your child needs to go home a different way than normal please send a note or email their teacher AND the front office at rachelle.bartlett@richlandone.org. Teachers are not always available to check email during the day (they are teaching your children), so its best to email both! If the person picking up in car rider or walker line is not on your pick up list, it has to be in writing by the parent for them to pick up. Last, but certainly not least, PLEASE do not call a change in after 1:45. End of day is already in motion and we want to make sure your child is in the right location to get home safely. Thank you!

Open Studio Time and Arts Integration Collaborative Planning Provides Opportunities for Teachers to Develop and Implement Impactful Arts Integrated Lessons for Rosewood Students
Arts integration, the practice of merging the arts with other content areas during lessons is an impactful way to teach. As a Certified Arts In Basic Curriculum School, Rosewood believes that the arts are basic to every child's education. Providing collaborative planning and open studio sessions provides teachers with the support to develop and implement arts integrated lessons.
